2022-05-31 Thread Dimitar Dimitrov
Hi Paulo,
Thank you for the fast fix.
We don't have a test system for this.
I have to check on a live one (VM) after creating a snapshot.
This will be done the next evening (approx 20 hours from now).
I will keep you informed.

An additional comment.
I opened a case in the support portal, but they recommended opening a bug here:
https://portal.support.canonical.com/selfservice/s/case/5004K0EA3Ox/openssl-andor-libssl100-breaks-php-opensslgetciphermethods-function
I'm not sure if the main packages repository is the proper place for bugs in
ESM versions of the packages.
But this is a serious issue and I hope it can be resolved.

[Bug 1976339] [NEW] Openssl update to 1.0.2g-1ubuntu4.20+esm3 Breaks Php Openssl_get_cipher_methods Function

2022-05-31 Thread Dimitar Dimitrov
Public bug reported:

The system is Ubuntu 16.04 with ESM support.
After the update (28.5.2022) of openssl and libssl1.0.0 packages from
1.0.2g-1ubuntu4.20+esm2 to 1.0.2g-1ubuntu4.20+esm3 the php function
openssl_get_cipher_methods (php7 from the distribution) is broken.
It randomly returns empty array when called.
Testing from php-cli it always returns proper data.
Testing with web server most of the times it returns an empty array.
Tested with apache + mod-php and apache + php-fpm.
Downgrading to versions to 1.0.2g-1ubuntu4.20 fixes the problem.
This downgrade makes the systems work, but introduces security risks.

An example code to reproduce the issue:

[Bug 1780440] [NEW] [regression] Tray icons are displayed incorrectly with MESA 18.0.5

2018-07-06 Thread Dimitar Milkov
Public bug reported:

The recent upgrade from MESA 17.2.8 to 18.0.5 is causing the icons of some
applications bundled with Ubuntu 16.04 to be displayed incorrectly in the
status bar. The icons are surrounded by a shadow and some colorization is
missing.
The problem can be seen on the attached picture - VLC and Electrum icons are
affected by the problem (VLC's icon is surrounded by an extra shadow and
Electrum icon is supposed to be blue but is all black), and HexChat's icon is
displayed correctly next to them.

I'm using Linux Mint MATE 18.3 (based on Ubuntu 16.04's package base),
but the problem is present on Ubuntu MATE 16.04, too. The hardware i'm
using is ThinkPad T400 with an integrated Intel graphic accelerator,
using the default intel Xorg driver.

[Bug 1760127] [NEW] BCM2045B: Integrated Bluetooth adapter needs to be enabled twice to work on ThinkPad T400

2018-03-30 Thread Dimitar Milkov
Public bug reported:

This bug has been around since the 4.x kernels.

When the system boots up, Bluetooth is disabled as expected:

$ rfkill list
0: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
2: tpacpi_bluetooth_sw: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no

After we try to enable it with 'rfkill unblock bluetooth', the Bluetooth
interface hci0 is now present, but is soft blocked:

$ rfkill unblock bluetooth

$ rfkill list
0: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
2: tpacpi_bluetooth_sw: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: noDescription:Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia
Release:18.3

Hard blocked: no
10: hci0: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no

However, Bluetooth is considered enabled by the thinkpad-acpi driver, as
we can see:

$ cat /proc/acpi/ibm/bluetooth
status: enabled
commands: enable, disable

The Bluetooth LED is also on.

'hciconfig' is seeing the Bluetooth adapter as being DOWN:

$ hciconfig

hci0: Type: BR/EDR Bus: USB
BD Address: 00:22:68:E4:BF:27 ACL MTU: 1021:8 SCO MTU: 64:1
DOWN
RX bytes:511 acl:0 sco:0 events:23 errors:0
TX bytes:339 acl:0 sco:0 commands:23 errors:0

To remove the soft block of hci0 and make the Bluetooth adapter fully
operational, we should run 'rfkill unblock bluetooth' one more time.

$ rfkill unblock bluetooth

$ rfkill list
0: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
2: tpacpi_bluetooth_sw: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
10: hci0: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no

$ hciconfig

hci0: Type: BR/EDR Bus: USB
BD Address: 00:22:68:E4:BF:27 ACL MTU: 1021:8 SCO MTU: 64:1
UP RUNNING PSCAN ISCAN
RX bytes:1046 acl:0 sco:0 events:50 errors:0
TX bytes:943 acl:0 sco:0 commands:50 errors:0

Now the adapter is fully operational.

This behavior confuses most of the GUI applets that are used by the
modern distributions, since they expect to have an operational adapter
after the first attempt to enable it. This makes it impossible to use
the Bluetooth adapter through them.

I`m currently testing on Linux Mint 18.3 MATE (with Ubuntu package base)

BlueZ suite in the background to manage the Bluetooth adapter. Because
of this bug, it crashes and 'blueberry' is unable to use the Bluetooth.

[Bug 1731646] Re: missing qDebug output when creating QT applications

2017-11-13 Thread Dimitar Petrovski
according to this documentation:
http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qtglobal.html#qDebug
which is also referenced in the link you provided it says that if you write:
qDebug() << "Debug" there should be output unless QT_NO_DEBUG_OUTPUT is defined.
there is no mention that the logging category filters this messages, I guess in
this case the category is "default"
If you consider this a QT documentation problem, I will write a separate report
to QT bug tracking system.

afterwords I could restart for any user, but for some reason the changes
that i had made in interfaces did not show up when executing the
command: ifconfig. Hopefully this helps a bit.

[Bug 307954] Re: [kepas] Multiple bugs both in plasmoid and system tray versions

2011-02-21 Thread Dimitar Mihailov
"4. The configuration of the KPF is written in the kepasrc file but is
never used if the application is closed and opened again (or added again
for the plasmoid). So you end up in creating the server again after you
logout and login KDE or after removing and adding the plasmoid again."

That's really uncomfortable, it affects me and I have to manually set up
public servers every time I start kepas. Nice app (really missed KPF) by
the way ;).

[Bug 399978] Re: Excessive heat versus excessive parkings

2010-11-06 Thread Dimitar Mihailov
I can also confirm this bug with Acer ASpire ONE 150 with HDD TOSHIBA MK1652GSX
on Kubuntu 10.04
HDD temperature rises only when AC is plugged in.
I have to manually set a lower -B setting on hdparm to prevent hdd temperature
from going higher than in windows.

I also noticed that if I unplug and again plug the adapter, apparantly
Ubuntu power devil reverts -B setting to a maximum level (or higher
maybe), just so the HDD doesn't do head parking (load_cycle) excessivly.
As a result its temp goes up :).

So I guess maybe Ubuntu devs should set a lower default APM setting when
the laptop is on AC, compromising a few load cycle counts for a more
healthy HDD temperature :).

Apparently doing some head parks when HDD is not used lowers it's temp
and this is what Windows XP does by default on my netbook.

[Bug 526482] [NEW] Firefox don't save print setings

2010-02-23 Thread Dimitar Angelov
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

Environment:
OS: Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala)
Package: firefox-3.5 (3.5.8+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.9.10.1)
Problem:
I print from firefox and change print settings, like select destination
printer, margins, header, footer and so on. In about:config option
'print.save_print_settings' is set to true. Finally do print.
Immediately after previous print I do print again and I suspect to get same
settings (destination printer, margins, header, footer ...) that I set for last
print, but unfortunately I get default print settings (destination printer,
margins, header, footer ...).
All this is happen in same browser session.
Problem also reflect on our extension that we developed for Firefox
(jsPrintSetup https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/8966).
The extension using nsIPrintSettings interface to manage print settings also
encounter problem with select destination printer.
Independently from selected nsIPrintSettings.printerName Firefox always print
to default for operating system printer.

Hi I’m trying to install Karmic on Sun Fire v120 using the mini.iso-daily.
Unfortunately the installation is unable to find the SCSI disks. As I can see
the sd_mod is missing as I can’t find it in the modules.

3) If you don't have phonon-backend-xine install it.
sudo apt-get install phonon-backend-xine
4) Restart Amarok 2 and have fun.

2009-04-26 Thread Dimitar Krasimirov Boichev
I'm using OSS v4. I installed phonon-xine-backend and it started opening
the mp3 files ( I can see the progress bar moving ), but there is still
no sound.

When the torrent has many files and folders it's hard to find whatever
you need if everything is expanded.

[Bug 280409] Re: KTorrent miscalculates small files size

2008-10-09 Thread Dimitar Mihailov
Unfortunately the bug is not gone at all. Using KTorrent (Version 3.1.2
Using KDE 4.1.2) to download small files of the contents still messes up
the chunks, but after manually deleting the damaged .srt files and
forcing KTorrent to recreate them, the problem disappears, but only
temporarily.

The bug repeats with the next file I manually choose to download parts
of the torrent.

I think the bug is still present and the status of the bug report needs
to be updated :(

[Bug 280409] [NEW] KTorrent miscalculates small files size

2008-10-08 Thread Dimitar Mihailov
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ktorrent

When I load a torrent with many files and folders and select all of them
to be downloaded everything is ok.

Before downloading if I select only few files, the're also ok.

After downloading some of the files, when I select some of the previosly
not downloaded files, there's some miscalculation with the file size.
SRT files, wich according to the torrent info are 56KB when downloaded
become 3.2MB.

The subtitle files are readable, but when opened with Kate, there's a
message saying "The file ... is a binary, saving it will result in a
corrupt file."

I'm using Kubuntu 8.04.1 and KTorrent 2.2.5 (2.2.5-0ubuntu1)

I figured that this problem has something to do with the preallocation
option wich I use, so i tried either basic (slow) and filesystem
specific.
