[Bug 1479322] Re: Acer Aspire M5 481T consuming power while turned off! Battery drains with system halted!
I used this site to disable WOL before shutdown: http://www.hecticgeek.com/2012/09/disabling-wake-on-lan-in-ubuntu-might- save-a-tiny-bit-of-power-on-your-laptop/ This did not work. I lose about 1% battery an hour when shutting the machine down from Linux. WOL is off in UEFI, and Windows shutdown works the way it should. My machine uses a Radeon R9 M265X graphics chip, so I'm not sure it's only a video driver issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1479322 Title: Acer Aspire M5 481T consuming power while turned off! [Bug 1479322] Re: Acer Aspire M5 481T consuming power while turned off! Battery drains with system halted!
Running Mint 17.3 KDE on a Toshiba P55t-B5154 dual-boot with Windows 10. If I shut down the laptop from Windows, the battery remains 100% when I power up in the morning. If I shut down from Mint, the battery is drained sometimes to 70%depending on time between power-down and power up. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1479322 Title: Acer Aspire M5 481T consuming power while turned off! [Bug 1398971] Re: [SATELLITE P50t-B-112, Realtek ALC284, Speaker, Internal] No sound at all
Same problem with Toshiba Satellite P55t-B5154 running Mint 17 KDE (64-bit). Fernando's fix worked for me as well. Ron, I think the keyboard volume control problem is separate. For the past month (since I installed Mint on this laptop) I have not had sound, so I cannot say anything about the volume controls, however, I have noticed that the Screen Brightness keyboard controls are intermittent. I believe my backlighting control is as well. [Bug 875878] Re: Easymp3gain Hangs when clicking Add File or Add Folder
Still broken in Precise 64-bit, however, got it to work by doing the following: download the .deb from: http://sourceforge.net/projects/easymp3gain/ if installed, deinstall easymp3gain: sudo apt-get remove easymp3gain-gtk install the downloaded package: go to the download dir, normally Downloads: cd Downloads sudo dpkg -i easymp3gain-gtk2_0.5.0-2_i386.deb After this, there were dependancy issues, so I did this: sudo apt-get -f install That fixed everything, and I am currently analyzing my music... [Bug 787475] Re: Rhythmbox [0.12.8] [0.12.5] Not Fetching Album Information From MusicBrainz
I have tried several CDs, several different times. I am running Ubuntu-desktop-12.04-amd64 (originally beta2) on an HP G72 laptop with Intel dual-core T4500 processor and 8GB RAM. Picard detects CDs just fine (CD under test, 4 Non Blondes), but Rhythmbox cannot detect (Rhythmbox v 2.96). When I installed 12.04beta2 in early April, I had installed and tried using Banshee but that program was a frequent crasher, so I went back to Rhythmbox. If Banshee is more stable now and will detect CDs, then I will go to it (I prefer Banshee, actually). At the moment, I have to resort to booting into Win7 just to rip my music. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/787475 Title: Rhythmbox [0.12.8] [0.12.5] Not Fetching Album Information From MusicBrainz To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/rhythmbox/+bug/787475/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I have this problem with ubuntu-11.04-desktop-amd64.iso and ubuntu-11.04-desktop-i386.iso downloaded from both the main site and torrent. MD5 checksums match. Content burned to CD-R using Brasero through Ubuntu 10.4-desktop-amd64 on an HP Pavilion DV4 (DV4-1200US) which is what I was trying to load the live disc on.
