[Bug 626974] Re: ABI change in xorg 1.9 breaks legacy nvidia-96 and nvidia-173 drivers in Maverick

2010-09-30 Thread DoDuS
If I only knew about that problem before upgrade I have just made few
hours ago :( (10.04.1-10.10) Now I'm stuck with nv driver, as nouveau
is so slow on my machine, that even moving mouse pointer over menus
makes lag. That's really bad, I hope nvidia-96 binary drivers will work
with Ubuntu 10.10 as soon as possible.

Here is what Xorg.0.log says:

[Bug 571296] Re: Thunderbird 3 Message Pane always visible

2010-04-30 Thread DoDuS
Yes it happens every single time I start Thunderbird, it doesn't matter
if It is a first start after reboot or next time after closing
Thunderbird earlier. So when i close Thunderbird and open it again after
few seconds I also get that effect, it simply does not remember last
state of message pane visibility, always start with it visible.

I am closing Thunderbird by clicking X icon in the GUI, no message is
shown that application is closing longer than it should giving me option
to kill it or waiting, it closes smooth and clean, so I can start it
again (with that message pane visible).

Also it looks that Bug 518345 from bugzilla is exactly this, but there
are also people that have that problem only after rebooting, and I get
it always, so it looks it's Thunderbird bug not anything Ubuntu
packaging/compiling related?

[Bug 571296] [NEW] Thunderbird 3 Message Pane always visible

2010-04-28 Thread DoDuS
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

After upgrade from 9.10 to 10.04 Release Candidate, Mozilla Thunderbird
e-mail client always starts with Message Pane visible. When I switch
it off with F8 key (or by un-checking in View options) it disappears as
it should, but after next Thunderbird start it is displayed again, and
it should not, as it was in earlier version (Thunderbird 2 on Ubuntu
9.10 for example). I mean it (Thunderbird) should remember if user want
message pane to be displayed or not.

To see that error, simply start Thunderbird, hit F8, message pane on
left should disappear, than close Thunderbird and start it again, you
will see message pane again. So every time I start Thunderbird I need to
hit F8.

Mozilla Thunderbird: 3.0.4+nobinonly-0ubuntu4
Ubuntu 10.04 Release Candidate (regularly updated till today)

[Bug 456218] [NEW] Thunderbird window flickers

2009-10-20 Thread DoDuS
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

Problem software: Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0.0.23
(2.0.0.23+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu1)
OS: Karmic Koala 9.10 beta (upgrade from 9.04)
Graphics: Nvidia binary driver from 9.10 repository (96.43.13-0ubuntu5). Compiz
not used.

The problem is that Thunderbird window flicker ONE time every few second
(randomlly60s), it does not flicker all the time, only one time every
few seconds.

To get this problem simply start Mozilla Thunderbird, wait and look at
it's right panel or any opened/expanded menu or message window. What's
interesting left panel (with folders listing) does not flicker, that's
the only part that't displayed correctly.

Any other software I use does not have this problem (Firefox for
example). only Mozilla Thunderbird, it's annoying when reading messages,
as it deconcentrate

I don't see any related activity in hardware that could cause this
(hdd/dvdrom read/write/, graphics card, internet connection, etc)

It happens all the time, I mean i don't need to do anything special to
get this, simply opening Thunderbird leads to that. Only Thunderbird
window flickers, I mean any gnome menu, desktop icons are not redrawed
or something, this must be Thunderbird only related problem.

As it is really simple to check if others have this problem, please
check and comment here.

[Bug 232302] [NEW] sound not enabled in 2.6.24.16-rt kernel config file

2008-05-20 Thread DoDuS
Public bug reported:

There is no sound configuration in kernel config file from /boot
directory.

I am just compiling my own 2.6.24.7 kernel, so I copied a configuration
file for it from /boot/config-2.6.24-16-rt and when I made make
menuconfig what I found was, that ALSA and OSS menu is unchecked, so
all the modules for sound devices will not compile.

My OS: Ubuntu 8.04 LTS
Kernel package is: linux-image-2.6.24.16-rt

[Bug 211309] Re: [hardy] Java plugin not registered in Firefox 2

2008-04-26 Thread DoDuS
I had the same problem with firefox-2. sun-java6-plugin packages is
installed, but there is no symlink in /usr/lib/firefox/plugins for java
plugin
(/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so), so I
created it and everything is fine now, but this bug still appears in
8.04 official release, so let's hope it will be resolved quite fast.

[Bug 183969] Re: xserver-xorg-core update breaks java wxwidgets apps

2008-01-19 Thread DoDuS
I also had a problems after today xserver-xorg-core update, but in mine
case problem was with Wine applications, i couldn't start them (even
winecfg utility), because X server was restarting to the login screen.

The resolution was simple, and I have found it on Ubuntu forums, nvidia
binary drivers reinstallation resolved the problem :)

[Bug 174142] Re: Cannot install flash plugin due to md5sum mismatch

2007-12-05 Thread DoDuS
OK, It looks like this flickering is not a bug, but rather some kind of
intended effect :) The logo in the upper right corner on the video is
not flickering, is it possible to intentionally create such a effect? ;)

But the installation problem of course is a real thing, so many people
will be pissed off.

[Bug 174142] Re: Cannot install flash plugin due to md5sum mismatch

2007-12-05 Thread DoDuS
I have the same problem. There was Adobe Flash update on the official
site, but the Ubuntu package only knows checksum for it's previous
version. Manual installation works good, but i have a problem while
playing h.264 video like this:
http://marcelfahle.com/video/h264/bonifacio400kbits/ It's just some
h.264 codec sample, and the video is flickering, does your also?

[Bug 115942] Amarok-xine output cannot play 24bit wav files

2007-05-21 Thread DoDuS
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libxine1

While playing 24-bit .wav files in Amarok with xine output engine, there is
only noise in one channel. Just play 24-bit .wav files to check this. Probably
it's bug in xine libraries, Feisty has 1.1.4 version, and changelog for
xine-lib 1.1.5 says:
Wave files with 24-bit integer PCM streams now should play correctly
(downplayed to 16-bit).
