[Bug 993240] Re: Fingerprint recognition login and encrypted home don't work together

2012-08-15 Thread Dominik Kozaczko
Just a loose idea for a solution:
I think if fingerprint could be converted to a hash and presented to the OS, it
could perfectly fit as a strong password. Then you should be able to encrypt
your home using two password (just like you encrypt mail to several people
using GPG) – your regular password and the fingerprint hash.

What I meant was: use fingerprint hash as additional way to (un)wrap
ecryptfs password :)

[Bug 270548] [NEW] interpid-alternate-daily (from 20080915) installer does not detect cdrom on iMac and eMac

2008-09-15 Thread Dominik Kozaczko
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: debian-installer

I have several Macs in my lab. Unfortunately, the latest Interpid
alternate install CD does not... detect the cdrom. During boot (checked
via dmesg) cdrom is detected correctly (as hdc) but installer can't see
it and it does not appear in /dev

** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 232507] Re: Possible kernel misconfiguration on 64bit Hardy - install CD does not boot.

2008-05-22 Thread Dominik Kozaczko
Turns out that also 32-bit edition fails on this hardware. Older kernel
works fine.

[Bug 232507] [NEW] Possible kernel misconfiguration on 64bit Hardy - install CD does not boot.

2008-05-21 Thread Dominik Kozaczko
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 7.10 installs fine but after upgrading to 8.04 system fails to
boot. Also 8.04 install CD doesn't work - it displays boot screen, lets
me select language and options and then it just exits to busybox.
