[Bug 456910] Re: Adobe Flash Player dependency is not satisfiable

2009-10-21 Thread Doug Ramerth
You'll find that link here: www.dell.com For Home Laptops Minis
Help me choose (an Intel processor, upper left hand corner) pop up
instructing me to install Adobe Flash Player to view content.

Can something be coded that redirects a novice user to the software
repository?

[Bug 456905] [NEW] Dialogue box remains in view during sceenshot

2009-10-20 Thread Doug Ramerth
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gpe-screenshot

Screenshot taken in Karmic Koala captures screenshot dialogue box if
delay time is zero seconds. Lower third of dialogue box is about 80
percent transparent. If delay time is one second or more dialogue box is
out of view. Ubuntu 9.04 on my laptop does not capture dialogue box in a
screenshot even if time delay is zero seconds.

Re: [Bug 455157] Re: Ubuntu 9.10 Beta reinstall ends with infinite loop

2009-10-19 Thread Doug Ramerth
Evan,

I downloaded 9.10 Beta on October 13. I'll download another build this evening
and try it.
I'm a Linux newbie, so I want a little more information.

(1) I'm assuming an infinite loop will not occur because debug mode is enabled.
(2) Shall I expect to use the pause key if messages fill the screen? Will the
application respond to a pause keystroke in the post-install phase?
(3) Will I be able to use (shift)-Print Screen?

Doug

Does this occur with the absolute latest daily-live CD
(http://cdimage.ubuntu.com)?  If so, please boot with the upstart debug
option.  Select your language at the CD boot menu, then press F6
followed by escape to bring up the kernel command line.  Enter --debug
just before the -- mark, so the line looks something like ...quiet
splash --debug --, then press enter to boot.  Take a picture of, or
record on paper, the messages that appear at the end of shutdown.

Thanks!

Evan,

I downloaded and successfully installed /daily-live/current today
(10-19). Install ended gracefully. No infinite looping.
