Public bug reported: As soon as I turn on my laptop, the fans start working at full speed. The temperature get's higher and higher. While it's idle, or while I'm doing something basic (like reading the news) the temperature of the laptop is similar to the temperatue while playing a heavy game on Windows! In Pidgin 2.7.9 I have a similar problem: if the "Default-with-Skype" emoticon theme is selected, only some emoticons appear as a rectangle containing a cross. I think this issue has been partially fixed. Pidgin 2.7.9 uses by default an icon in the system tray. If the messaging menu is installed it also uses this menu. I think this bug is fixed (the status should be Fix Released). I also think that we should open a new bug to disable the system tray icon when the messaging menu is present. Now you have to disable it in the preferences menu. Between the master bug (this one) and the duplicates, date/clock and login name all seem capable of overwriting the shutdown icon. I can confirm this bug, it happens sometimes and I couldn't find a way to reproduce the bug. It just happens. But I found a work-around: every time it happens I press "Alt + F2", write "xkill" and hit "Run". The pointer is now going to be an "X". You only have to put the pointer over the Task Bar and left-click your mouse.
