[Bug 1030365] Re: Cannot authenticate nbcolympics.com (can't stream Olympic coverage)
Also effects Fedora 17, Firefox 14. I sent a note of complaint to NBC. Works fine on iPhone with downloaded app from App Store. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1030365 Title: Cannot authenticate nbcolympics.com (can't stream Olympic coverage) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1030365/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 608434] Re: [915gm] Dual monitor instability - reverts to low graphics mode
Seems to happen only running VirtualBox with Microsoft XP guest. I run dual monitors (Dell Latitude D820 and a Dell external monitor. Machine will crash no matter which display VirtualBox is running on. I made a similar report on Bug 577487. Workaround: Do not leave computer idle with VirtualBox display visible. Since this does not happen when running Fedora 15 (native boot), I conclude that it is a display driver problem with Ubuntu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/608434 Title: [915gm] Dual monitor instability - reverts to low graphics mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/608434/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 577487] Re: display crashes leaving me in low-resolution mode
I experience a similar bug. I run VirtualBox with a Microsoft XP guest under Ubuntu 10.04 (Gnome). When I leave the machine idle, the screensaver will appear (no problem) then the monitor shuts off (as expected). Then inexplicably I get a dialogue Ubuntu is in low graphic mode. The dialogue (reported above) appears; I have to shut down and restart the entire computer to restore operation. When this happens, all active applications are dismissed (tantamount to a complete system crash). Workaround: do not leave the computer idle with the VirtualBox application visible. I originally thought this was a VirtualBox problem. This crashing does not happen under Fedora 15 (Gnome), thus I conclude it has something to do with Ubuntu display driver. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/577487 Title: display crashes leaving me in low-resolution mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/577487/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 466575] Re: secure remove of external USB-HDD produces error
I get the same problem when removing a USB drive from /dev/sdb. The drive is a 250 GB hard disc formatted with the ext4 file system. After getting this message, I just unplug it. I first unplug the USB cable and then hit the 'off switch' on the drive. Other than the annoying dialogue, the error does not seem to give any problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/466575 Title: secure remove of external USB-HDD produces error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/udisks/+bug/466575/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 775060] Re: Random GUI freezes in Natty (can only move the cursor) (might be a segfault)
This bug seems to have something to do with gv (ghostview). gv will freeze my screen every time, whether I invoke from command line or from Unity GUI, or call it through another program (emacs). The bug is also present if I run Natty in 'classic mode'. I am running Natty 64-bit. I have no problems with gv in Fedora 15 64-bit (this machine dual boots) nor in Lucid (32-bit) on another machine. Hope this helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/775060 Title: Random GUI freezes in Natty (can only move the cursor) (might be a segfault) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/775060/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 775060] Re: Random GUI freezes in Natty (can only move the cursor) (might be a segfault)
I have noted random freezing as reported in this bug ever since installing Natty in May. It was not until today that I could reproduce it consistently. Screen freezes, mouse remains active, but cannot do anything. Keyboard also becomes inactive. The only way to restore operation is to do a hard shutdown. Perhaps there is something in common with gv code base and code base that affects other programs causing the problem.
[Bug 584337] Re: System boots with no sound and cannot shutdown or restart
I have very similar problem on my Dell Latitude D620 with Lucid. A workaround with the sound seems to be to delete the pulse directory (i.e. rm -rf ~/.pulse) shut down and restart. The only way to shut down after sound failure is from the command line (i.e. sudo shutdown -h now). I have had the problem ever since upgrading from Hardy to Lucid in April. I have never been able to consistently reproduce. The problem may have something to do with power management. If I start on AC, pull the plug and run on battery for awhile and shut down, the problem is likely to recur. I have never seen the problem on a Dell Dimension Desktop that always runs from AC. I seldom if ever see it when running the Latitude laptop from AC for repeated startup and shutdown, Before a recent kernel upgrade (I do not remember which one) CUPS and the VirtualBox kernel module would not load properly after the restart. CUPS and VirtualBox load fine now, unaffected by the sound driver problems. I believe there is something wrong in power management and the kernel. -- System boots with no sound and cannot shutdown or restart https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/584337 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 571534] Re: Lucid - Mouse stops working after shortly after login
It is effecting me randomly with the left mouse click event disappearing. I do not know if it is operator error (hands dragging over a touch pad (Dell Latitude D820) while typing in the wrong keys). I use emacs a lot, the trouble generally occurs during an emacs session. I never experienced this problem at all on Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy). Could it be related to emacs 23 which is an upgrade from emacs on Hardy. I do not know. [Bug 554172] Re: cups not starting at boot
For what it is worth, I have same problem on my 32-bit Lucid machine. I do not have he problem on my 64-bit Lucid machine. CUPS starts properly on the 64-bit. It starts intermittently on boot on the 32-bit. As observed by others sudo service cups start starts CUPS on the 32-bit after booting. -- cups not starting at boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/554172 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
