Thanks for reporting this issue! Can you please try the latest [Keyman
15](https://launchpad.net/~keymanapp/+archive/ubuntu/keyman-alpha)
version? There have been some changes in the postinst script, so I think
it has been fixed.

[Bug 1916493] [NEW] Rendering problems with Khmer text containing U+17D2 and U+17C2

2021-02-22 Thread Eberhard Beilharz
Public bug reported:

gnome-terminal has some problems displaying Khmer text:

The Khmer Sign Coeng (U+17D2) functions to indicate that the following
Khmer letter is to be rendered subscripted.

The Khmer Vowel Sign Ae (U+17C2) needs to be rendered in front of the
preceding character.

However, that doesn't work in gnome-terminal.

See attached screenshots how things are supposed to look like (as rendered in
gedit) and how they look in gnome-terminal:

ខ្មែរ (U+1781 U+17d2 U+1798 U+17c2 U+179a)

word fragments:
ខ្ម (U+1781 U+17d2 U+1798)

[Bug 1812527] Re: gnome-shell crashes with SIGSEGV in meta_window_actor_is_destroyed(self=NULL) called from _switchWorkspaceDone() [windowManager.js:1787] when running Android emulator (QEMU)

2019-02-04 Thread Eberhard Beilharz
Crashing here as well, and I don't have the Android emulator running.
It's happening seemingly randomly when switching between workspaces.

I tried to follow the steps from #2, but steps 1 and 2 didn't work, and
I'm not clear what workaround from bug 994921 is meant exactly.

syslog also shows a crash in libmutter-2.so.0.0.0.

[Bug 1806865] [NEW] Ghostscript removes links (regression from gs 9.18)

2018-12-05 Thread Eberhard Beilharz
Public bug reported:

I often reduce the size of pdf documents by running:

gs -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -dCompatibilityLevel=1.4 -dPDFSETTINGS="/default"
-dNOPAUSE -dQUIET -dBATCH -sOutputFile="foo.pdf" "Document.pdf"

The latest ghostscript version 9.26 doesn't keep links in the pdf file
and produces slightly larger pdf files compared to 9.18.

The size doesn't matter so much, but it's really bad that the links get
removed.

The attached file GhostscriptBug.tar.bz2 contains four files:

- Scribus document with a link (PDF annotation)
- PDF file with a link, generated by Scribus
- foo9.26.pdf is the file resulting from running the above command with
ghostscript 9.26 (-> links removed)
- foo9.18.pdf is the file resulting from running the above command with
ghostscript 9.18 (-> links still there)

[Bug 216939] Re: totem causes alt key press in openoffice every 30 seconds

2010-01-11 Thread Eberhard Beilharz
Looks like the culprit is gnome-screensaver-command which is set as
proximity command in blueproximity. When I run that command in a loop
(without running blueproximity) I get the same behavior that the menu in
OO opens and closes every 5 seconds.

Run the following batch script in a terminal window, then give focus to
OO Writer:

#!/bin/bash
for (( ; ; ))
do
   gnome-screensaver-command -p
   sleep 5
done

[Bug 505789] Re: gnome-screensaver-command -p triggers keyboard event

2010-01-11 Thread Eberhard Beilharz
I can confirm this behavior with blueproximity, OO and gnome-
screensaver.

Running the following batch script in a terminal window, then giving
focus to OO Writer clearly shows that the problem is gnome-screensaver-
command, not blueproximity:

#!/bin/bash
for (( ; ; ))
do
   gnome-screensaver-command -p
   sleep 5
done

To me it looks like gnome-screensaver-command --poke just sends the Alt
key on its own. In OO (as well as any Windows app) this opens the first
menu item (or closes the menu if it happens to be open).

This behavior is really annoying since it basically makes OO unuseable
when running blueproximity.

See also discussion at bottom of bug #216939.

[Bug 505789] Re: gnome-screensaver-command -p triggers keyboard event

2010-01-11 Thread Eberhard Beilharz
As a workaround I use the following proximity command in blueproximity:
xdotool key Scroll_Lock xdotool key Scroll_Lock.

Hopefully gnome-screensaver-command -p isn't issued by other apps I'm
running.

[Bug 462349] [NEW] Mono WinForms apps don't show text on menus and button

2009-10-27 Thread Eberhard Beilharz
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

With the latest version of xserver-xorg-video-intel
(2:2.9.0-1ubuntu2~xup~3) any Mono WinForms doesn't draw the text on
menus and buttons. The menus and buttons are there, but the text doesn't
show. This happens with my installed mono and a mono version built from
latest svn.

With the previous version of xserver-xorg-video-intel
(2:2.7.1-0ubuntu1~xup~1) this worked.

I'm running 64-bit Jaunty; problem also happens in a 32-bit chroot.

** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu)
