[Bug 1776933] Re: xdg-screensaver suspend doesn't work in Ubuntu 16.04

2018-06-15 Thread Ed B
Now I am keeping the same error message, but "xdg-screensaver suspend"
does suspend the screen saver. I don't know what possibly have caused
the change, between the time I filed the report and now I installed
several packages but they are normally unrelated to screensavers...
Anyhow you can close the bug (or tell me how to find out the packages I
installed in between, so that I uninstall them and make another test).

[Bug 1776933] [NEW] xdg-screensaver suspend doesn't work in Ubuntu 16.04

2018-06-14 Thread Ed B
Public bug reported:

1) The version of Ubuntu I am using is
cat /etc/issue Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS \n \l

2) The package version is 1.1.1-1ubuntu1.16.04.3

3) The expected behavior of the command

xdg-screensaver suspend 0x3a00010
(here 0x3a00010 is a window ID of an existing window)
shoud keep the screen saver from starting while that window is open.

4) The actual behavior

The screen saver starts after certain time of inactivity. I also get an
error message

org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.gnome.SessionManager wa
s not provided by any .service files
