[Bug 665932] Re: boot stops at resume: libgcrypt 1.4.5 for over 20 seconds
I booted a Live CD and split my swap partition into two, leading to the old UUID being invalid. Doing this makes boot hang at resume: libgrypt x.x.x forever. Some googling lead me here, but I could not find the file /usr/share /initramfs-tools/hooks/resume, and could not try the solution suggested in #11. I eventually fixed the problem by assigning the correct UUID for my new swap partition in the files /etc/fstab and /etc/uswsusp.conf, chrooting into the Ubuntu root, and running `update-initramfs -u`, and everything is up and running fine now, so no harm done. However, I would suggest that a more informative error message be printed, such as UUID 29581fa0-3814-11e4-a7d0-0002a5d5c51b not found, instead of hanging indefinitely at boot, to prevent other people from encountering the same problem in the future. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/665932 Title: boot stops at resume: libgcrypt 1.4.5 for over 20 seconds To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libgcrypt11/+bug/665932/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The thing you seem to forget, Sebastien, is that the core issue is this: A hack was introduced that not only changed the default behavior for all users, but -- more importantly -- also made it impossible to switch back to the desired behavior. Currently, there is no way to tell from the launcher icon that I have windows of an application open in both workspace 1 and workspace 2. This can prove to be very annoying. Consider this use case: I open Firefox on workspace 1. I go to workspace 2 and open another Firefox window, and then Nautilkus. I fullscreen the Nautilus window. If I go back to workspace 1 there is no way for me to easily go to the Firefox window on workspace 2. There isn't even a good way for me to tell that I have two Firefox windows open, because on workspace 1 the Firefox icon will only have one pip next to it. Even if I activate Expo I won't see the Firefox window on workspace 2 since it is hidden by the maximized Nautilus window. There must be a better solution for this. Perhaps add a transparent pip next to the opaque one, to signify that the application also has a window on another workspace? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/690143 Title: Launcher - Implement workspace/launcher cross interactions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/690143/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1053570] [NEW] Alt+section does not work as expected
Public bug reported: Reproduce: Open two e.g. two Firefox windows. Use alt+section (key above tab, ยง on my Swedish keyboard layout, ` on US layouts) to switch between the two different windows. What happens: A graphical window switcher is shown, with an orange glow around the window not currently focused. You release alt+section, since the orange halo leads you to beleive the window you want to switch to is selected. This is false -- you are instead taken back to the window you had focused when pressing alt+section. If I hold alt and press section again, the orange glow will move to the right _together with the window it was highlighting_. After doing this, window selection graphics work properly. This means I have to double tap section in order to switch windows within an application. Also, if I type alt+section really, really fast, the switcher window does not appear, and then the window switching works as expected. Expected behavior: 1. Alt+section should highlight the window that will actually be selected. 2. I should not need to hold alt and double tap section to change to the next window within an application. One section key press should be enough. [Bug 790756] Re: The arrows that appears when there are too much tabs in Firefox have colors inverted when using Ambiance theme
This is actually a very annoying bug for people with many active tabs. It gives the exactly the wrong affordance for when you quickly wish to discern whether you have more tabs or not in a certain direction. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/790756 Title: The arrows that appears when there are too much tabs in Firefox have colors inverted when using Ambiance theme To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/humanity/+bug/790756/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 926357] Re: Windows can be hidden on another workspace
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PaperCut Not a papercut by what criteria? What disqualifies it? That it is not trivially fixable? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the solution should be something along the line of checking which Compiz viewport contains the largest area of the application clicked on, then go there. [Bug 86184] Re: Can't change cursor style using Compiz.
While there doesn't seem to be an official way to change the cursor in Ubuntu 12.04 (the Appearance section under System Settings is woefully lacking in options), I do believe this issue needs to be addressed because of the accessibility considerations mentioned above. Is anyone aware of what it is that causes the discrepancy that if you change pointer theme the default cursor remains the same but is updated to the new theme when it changes appearance to become e.g a resize cursor, or changes when it hovers over certain applications like Firefox? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/86184 Title: Can't change cursor style using Compiz.
