[Bug 1735363] Re: inkscape: Port to Python 3
One thing we'd need to consider is that some more or less basic Inkscape functionality currently relies on Python extensions, e.g. - Several templates - Help links although I already wondered if this was even really necessary - I assume there are better solutions available to open a link from GTK - Export/Import extensions They are not strictly Inkscape core but a lot of users are not aware they might be running an extension to export to their favorite format. Second important questions is if this would only affect packaging or if we really want to split out the extension code from the Inkscape source repository into a more or less self sufficient sub-project. In the latter case I fear that the bundled extensions - which are in a pretty desolate state even now - might bit-rot even faster (less users, less developers having the repo on their radar, less obvious affiliation with the core program). If we could achieve to make the extensions into a "community project" (that is a lot more user driven, allowing easy contributions and additions of new extensions with well-organized categorization and documentation) that could also improve upon the status-quo but as a start this would require a "core team" of people who would be willing to do the necessary maintenance (not sure we have that right now...). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1735363 Title: inkscape: Port to Python 3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1735363/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1417470] Re: PDF+Latex export creates multipage pdf, pages missing
As the previous fix only worked around the issue by adding blank pages to the output I had another shot at fixing this. I created a merge request with a "proper" fix that actually outputs partial renderings of the final document which can then be stacked in the LaTeX document with the text sandwiched in between, see https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/merge_requests/135 As the renderer (especially the hack we use to make PDF+LaTeX work) is a fragile thing and I'm not too familiar with it yet this requires a lot of testing. I'd appreciate if you could check with your own samples if Inkscape produces proper output. Attached is an example document that should highlight the new functionality. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1417470 Title: PDF+Latex export creates multipage pdf, pages missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1417470/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1220472] Re: USA keyboard layout - ctrl + z and ctrl + y replaced
Is this still and issue? Just tried on Windows 10 with both - Inkscape 0.92.2pre0 (973e216, 2017-07-25) and - Inkscape 0.92+devel (48344d68f8, 2017-07-29) and actually Ctrl+Z/Y is switched when I switch from German to English keyboard layout. Now - there might be differences between Windows and Linux - Inkscape is actually supposed to behave like described initially but (in the scope of this bug) I can't reproduce it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1220472 Title: USA keyboard layout - ctrl + z and ctrl + y replaced To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1220472/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1562652] Re: perspective extension does not render
I can confirm (Inkscape 0.92.2pre0 (973e216, 2017-07-25), x64, Windows 10) that the perspective extension works as expected with grouped text. You should only ever select two objects: The first object is supposed to be the path (or group of paths)to be transformed, the second is the path defining the transformation. I'm closing this for now, but if you can still reproduce the issue with the steps describe feel free to re-open. ** Changed in: inkscape Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1562652 Title: perspective extension does not render To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1562652/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 168708] Re: Embedded jpg exported to EPS/PDF as non-jpeg (JPEGs are stored /FlateDecode instead of /DCTDecode)
This problem severely limits Inkscape's usefulness when one would wants to annotate raster graphics by overlaying them with vector elements. E.g. I'm using Inkscape to create images for my thesis. Since I'm using pdftex I'd want to export PDFs from Inkscape, but since I can't save the graphics without loosing quality I abandoned Inkscape in favor of GIMP and pure LaTeX. This bug is only part of a fundamental problem of Inkscape, see e.g. - Bug #871563 - Bug #958371 - Bug #871563 and probably many more. When this can be solved in Cairo with cairo_surface_set_mime_data() as laid out before, this should be a high priority bug and should be fixed as soon as possible since it also creates issues like bug #1220912 that could be avoided by not re-encoding embedded or linked images. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/168708 Title: Embedded jpg exported to EPS/PDF as non-jpeg (JPEGs are stored /FlateDecode instead of /DCTDecode) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/168708/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
