[Bug 291271]

2009-08-04 Thread Efrain Valles
I can confirm this still happens in karmic, Specifically in Kubuntu
Netbook Remix Alpha 3.

Steps to reproduce remain the same.

on a fresh Install Karmic Alpha 3

1) Click on Hardware Drivers

2) Note it does not display posible installable drivers for my broadcom
card.

what should happen:

1) it should display b43 and allow me to install it.

I am currently doing upgrades on the fresh install to see if it fixes
the issue

as a side note

linux-restricted-mod is not installed upon a fresh install. This should
add the binary blob necesary to run any propietary drivers for my card.
I am updating and shall report later

[Bug 409166] [NEW] jockey-kde does not show message upon complete installation of b43 wireless drivers

2009-08-04 Thread Efrain Valles
Public bug reported:

When installing Broadcom STA wireless driver on Kubuntu Netbook Image
Karmic Koala 9.10, Jockey-KDE fails to notify the completion of the
instalation. I canceled the installation fo the driver after waiting for
30 minutes for the driver to install. after I cancelled the install I
noticed jockey-kde marked the driver as active. The driver had been
installed and jockey-kde did not notify, instead it just showed the
progress bar stating it was downloading adn configuring the driver.

Steps to reproduce:

On a Kubuntu Netbook Image Karmic Alpha 3 fresh install with updates:

1) open hardware drivers (jockey-kde)

2) Install any of the available drivers for the b43 wiresless cards

Note that the progress bar never actually reports completion of the
install though b43 does finish installing at some point

what should happen:

jockey-kde should prompt a message about having completed the
installation

[Bug 74959] Re: Feisty Herd 1 - display warps after keyboard layout selection

2006-12-11 Thread Efrain Valles
I was able to recreate this bug. I have an older version of the same
machine It is a Compaq Presario M2215LA.

It uses the same Video Card

ATI Radeon Xpress 200m

my machine was upgraded to 512 mb of ram couple of months ago.

my experience was a bit different in that I got 3/4 of my screen all
black at the bottom (blocking all the bottom panel)... and my top panel
got some blue stripes that could easily be removed as I played around
with the pannel.

[Bug 151572] Re: HP photosmart R717 camera not mounted when plugged

2007-10-12 Thread Efrain Valles
I forgot to mention that the first time I plug in the camera. I unplug
it without any way of unmounting the device. and therefore the secound
time I plug it. It monts it. but it tells me that the card has an
invalid format due to the previous manual unpluging and the end result
is ... no pictures after the disk gets mounted.

It is when I plug it for a second time that the Camera gets mounted as a
drive and inmediately the dialog box for importing pictures appear.

1) I plug my camera Nothing happens. I check lsusb and it is there...
2) I unplug my camera.
3) I plug it again and it works.

[Bug 139395] xchat does not remember the last nick used to log in to a sever

2007-09-13 Thread Efrain Valles
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xchat

Xchat fails to remember the nick I used to login in my last conection to
a server in Gutsy. he uses my ubuntu session user name by default but
this is not my actual IRC nickname. therefore everytime I want to login
I have to change my user name. I remember using feisty and having no
problems just editing the name once and xchat would remember it.

steps to reproduce.

-Change nick on the network list window (Xchat>network list...)
-log on to network with new nick
-quit Xchat
-start Xchat again

Notice how the nick change is not permanent.

then split -Indep.
  * Updated Depends for new requirements.
  * Removed new figlet plugin: figlet is non-free, that's why this
package would not recommend such a nasty program in any way (please
don't waste your time sending crappy reports to the BTS, this will
end up to WONTFIX flagging, thanks).
  * Disabled tinyurl and urban plugins: depends not available in Debian.

+ fortune-mod | fortune: used in fortune plugin
  * Updated README.Debian plugins information.
  * Increased Standards-Version to 3.7.2.1 (no changes).

well it doesn't show in the debdiff but clean in debian/rules erases
*.1 in debian/ and that would erase the manpage. so that's why we have
the rename from runghc.man to runghc.1 after clean.

[Bug 211312] [NEW] New currency for Venezuela not available in Ubuntu Gutsy

2008-04-03 Thread Efrain Valles
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: language-pack-es-base

Venezuela has a New currency. Ubuntu Gutsy does not handle the change in
the system wide locale. I am currently testing Hardy and the New
Currency is reflected. this change should be made for all supported
Ubuntu versions as it generates problems for accounting software and
point of sales. OpenOffice.org 2.3 offers support for both the old
currency and new currency.

Bs is the old currency, BsF the new currency.

Bs 1.000,00 == BsF 1,00

To improve this bug report please answer these questions:

1) What did you do to get the error? are there any specific steps to

[Bug 147636] Re: [Gutsy] Strage list behavior in Add buddy->New person dialog

2008-02-26 Thread Efrain Valles
I am unable to reproduce this bug. The screen I have for adding buddies
is different from yours. you seem to be using an older version of pidgin
as the version currently used in GUTSY is 1:2.2.1-1ubuntu4.1.

please check the version installed on your system (1:2.2.0-1ubuntu1?)

I am marking this bug as Incomplete, once you submit the needed
information make sure you change the status back to new. we thank you
very much for helping.

[Bug 189158] Re: fire fox not open menu

2008-02-26 Thread Efrain Valles
Thanks for taking your time in reporting this. This is probably an
incompatibility issue caused by the coding of the site and not firefox.
If it works on internet explorer, there is a big change it was developed
for that particular browser. contact the webmaster for more info.

I am marking this bug as "invalid" as it does not represent a actual bug
in firefox. should you consider this bug to be relevant. make sure you
change the "status" back to "new"

thanks again

[Bug 180649] Re: helpfile to gnome-audio-profiles not found

2008-02-27 Thread Efrain Valles

I am unable to reproduce this issue, I have installed extra language
packages using "Language support" in the Administration menu. If you run
sound-juicer on terminal and you try to reproduce the bug, do you get any
messages that might indicate something?
