[Bug 1674838] Re: kernel BUG at /build/linux-7LGLH_/linux-4.10.0/include/linux/swapops.h:129
My apologies, I think I was confused before. I saw another hang with similar symptoms and I think confirmation bias made me assume I'm seeing this bug again without double checking everything carefully. Sorry about that! Now I verified I'm running the right kernel, I'll report if I see the original hang I first reported in Bug #1687267: $ cat /proc/version Linux version 4.10.0-20-generic (sforshee@gloin) (gcc version 6.3.0 20170406 (Ubuntu 6.3.0-12ubuntu2) ) #22+lp1674838v201705030839 SMP Wed May 3 13:41:02 UTC 2017 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1674838 Title: kernel BUG at /build/linux- 7LGLH_/linux-4.10.0/include/linux/swapops.h:129 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1674838/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1687267] Re: kernel BUG at /build/linux-2NWldV/linux-4.10.0/include/linux/swapops.h:129!
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1674838 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1674838 This affects me as well on Ubuntu 17.04 (and with less frequency on Xubuntu 17.04) with symptoms similar to what others described above (the graphical desktop freezing requiring a hard reset). I have noticed an interesting pattern with this bug. I'm a Mozilla developer, and I build Firefox on my laptop regularly and I have noticed that this bug tends to happen a lot when I start a build on my laptop when I'm at home and am playing something from Youtube in the background (which I tend to do a lot!) In the beginning I suspected perhaps something in the Firefox media stack is involved due to the involvement of Youtube but now for a while I had switched to playing Youtube in Chrome and still the same happens. This time the bug was in fact triggered from Chrome, so that rules out my previous theory. Since this happens more when I'm at home, I suspect there is a connection to the wifi driver in my laptop somehow. I have a Qualcomm Atheros QCA6174 (DW1820) using the open source wifi-qca6174 -firmware-dw1820 driver. [Bug 584632]
As Aryeh said, there's nobody who is currently working on the editor code base, unfortunately. This is not a very hard problem, it is mostly an issue of having the human resources to work on this component. But it is also not as easy as you suggest, because we don't remember the history of all of the fonts/etcs used during editing. If someone wants to fix this, I think they should first look into where in the DOM we collapse the selection when you click at the end of the paragraph. My suspicion is that place is outside of the element that has the respective style for the font set. We should probably look into normalizing the selection in those cases to be inside the said element, and figure out the edge cases that we need to think about and also test the behavior of other browser engines in those cases, etc. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/584632 Title: composer changes font mid email To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/thunderbird/+bug/584632/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I'll be available here if you guys need to ask me something.
