[Bug 1920590] [NEW] Mouse Forward & Back buttons don't work in Nautilus

2021-03-20 Thread Aindriú Mac Giolla Eoin
Public bug reported:

hi,

I'm running Ubuntu 20.10 and I'm using a Logitech MX Master Mouse 3.
I've replaced the file browser Nautilus with file browser Dolphin but
3rd party apps still use Nautilus to save files.

My problem is that applications like Flameshot (takes screen shots) use
Nautilus when I'm trying to save a file to a location. I have to use
Flameshot a lot and I navigate up and down 1 or 2 folders above/below,
the problem is that Back and Forward buttons do not work and I have to
move the mouse cursor in the GUI to the back/forward icon.

I can open Nautilus file browser on its own and navigate successfully
using back forward buttons.

[Bug 1068555] Re: Quantal upgrade says no package named `libjbig0' is installed, cannot configure

2012-10-26 Thread Eoin Murphy
Was unable to installed git via apt-get as a result of this bug.

$ apt-get install git
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
git : Depends: liberror-perl but it is not going to be installed
Depends: git-man ( 1:1.7.10.4) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: git-man ( 1:1.7.10.4-.) but it is not going to be installed
libqtgui4:i386 : Depends: libtiff5:i386 ( 4.0.0-1~) but it is not going to be
installed
libtiff4:i386 : Depends: libjbig0:i386 but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a
solution).

The suggested 'apt-get -f install' fixed this.

$ apt-get -f install
...
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
  gcc-4.6-base:i386 libcelt0-0 libtiff4:i386 libx264-120
  packagekit-backend-aptcc
Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.
The following extra packages will be installed:
  libjbig0:i386 libtiff5:i386
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  libjbig0:i386 libtiff5:i386

[Bug 1027110] [NEW] update-grub causes kernel oops (BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at (null))

2012-07-20 Thread Eoin
Public bug reported:

Dual boot Ubuntu 12.04 / Win7 SP1 Dell Optiplex 990 computer. The
following problem is repeatable every time and occurs on multiple
machines. When running update-grub the terminal displays:

dtc-admin@DTC141:~$ sudo update-grub

update-grub doees not generate entries for the win7 partition so the system can

henrix++; Having appeared to have to have nailed the problem by
spotting the TALPA Filesystem Interceptor. I installed Sophos anti-
virus for linux v7 and TALPA appears to have been part of it. The
problem is no longer reproducible having uninstalled sophos. I have
tried this on several machines and they are no longer having problems
with update-grub.

Many thanks to everyone for their interest and insight into this. Especially
to henrix, to whom I now owe a pint.

[Bug 332420] Re: Says Select the device you want to setup even with no devices available

2009-02-21 Thread Eoin
Here's a patch from version 1.8 (froun apt-get sourct) which adds an
extra label to the device chooser menu, which makes it more obvious that
there is an active search for devices going on.

It may be prudent to add one of those spinning animated images that seem
to be showing up everywhere, too.
