[Bug 1274670] Re: inotifywait -r doesn't react to files created in a new subdirectory

2021-06-20 Thread Eriberto
Hi Alex,

I am the new maintainer of inotify-tools in Debian. I confirm this bug
is also present in new upstream release 3.20.11.0. For sequential tests,
is needed to reboot the system after each test. My tests were made in
Debian Bullseye 11 (testing).

There is a new development place[1] for this project.

I think there is a link with bugs #17 and #25 in upstream tracker
site[2]. However, I will open a new issue for this specific case.

[Bug 702884] Re: The event delete_self with inotyfywait never occur

2021-06-19 Thread Eriberto
Hi Anders,

Thanks for your message. I am the maintainer of inotify-tools in Debian.

Today I did several tests in Debian Sid, using your version (inotify-
tools_3.13-3) and the newer version (3.20.11.0-1). I can't reproduce
these errors. I got the following replies, without a freeze:

# inotifywait -e delete_self /tmp/foo
Setting up watches.
Watches established.
/tmp/foo DELETE_SELF
# inotifywait -e delete /tmp
Setting up watches.
Watches established.
/tmp/ DELETE foo

Considering other tests, I am convinced that the problem occurred in
kernel API or other environment control. So, I am closing this bug. Feel
free to reopen if needed.

[Bug 801472] Re: [wipe] invalid command line options behaviour

2016-09-06 Thread Eriberto
Hi,

The -Q option must be in conjunction with -q. This is explicity in
manpage:

 -q (quick wipe)
If this option is used, wipe will only make (by default) 4 passes on each
file, writing random data. See option -Q

 -Q
Sets the number of passes for quick wiping. Default is 4.

The command error also says:

# wipe -Q 1 1
Invocation error (-h for help): option -Q useless without -q

However, I will make it a bit more clean in manpage.

Regards,

Eriberto
