[Bug 581355] Re: Atheros AR5001X+ Won't Connect to networks

2010-05-22 Thread Eric Lathrop
Okay, I tested with 2.6.34-rc1 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/v2.6.34-rc1/ and I get the same thing. Let me know if I
should try a different kernel.

After seeing bug #150690, I can kinda get it to work by disabling desktop
effects:
System -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Visual effects -> None

[Bug 581355] [NEW] Atheros AR5001X+ Won't Connect to networks

2010-05-16 Thread Eric Lathrop
Public bug reported:

Sending apport-bug info for #565367.
My card used to work fine on an older version of Ubuntu (8.10 or 9.04?) with
madwifi, but the new ath5k doesn't work.
I can see networks, but keep getting prompted for the password. Had the same
problem with Karmic, still not fixed.
Installing hand-compiled kernel modules is a nightmare because they keep
getting overwritten with every kernel update.

2009-10-31 Thread Eric Lathrop
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 402155 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/402155

Why isn't bug #402155 visible?
Is it some sensitive security issue?
Is there a patch in the works?

[Bug 151808] scanbuttond crash

2007-10-11 Thread Eric Lathrop
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: scanbuttond

I installed scanbuttond as a workaraound for this bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-backends/+bug/85488

scanbuttond crashes every time I run it. I have a Canon LIDE 25 scanner.
xsane can get a preview image (at least once until bug #85488 kick in), so the
scanner is hooked up ok.

Will attach crash report, and lsusb output.
