I think the problem goes beyond wine1.2 I'm noticing the crappy fonts on a fresh Karmic install even after the restricted Microsoft and Liberation fonts were installed. It wasn't like this in Jaunty. Reproducible? Yes. To recreate, open an application such as Firefox or MPlayer and enter its fullscreen mode. Try to Printscreen or Alt-Printscreen. Observe that the prompt will not appear until fullscreen mode is exited. If Escape is pressed before exiting fullscreen mode, the hidden screenshot prompt will be exited. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-utils In Ubuntu Karmic, taking a screenshot of an app like that has fullscreen mode like MPlayer or Firefox cannot be done. The prompt to save the image does not appear until after fullscreen mode has been exited. Because of this, the resulting screencap may include undesired graphical elemnts. Furthermore, the screenshots will ALWAYS show the cursor, even if it disappeared due to inactivity, unless tricky split-second commands are done to exit fullscreen and save the image.
