Arrrgh--I spoke too soon! The black bar is back! Since everything was OK with the ...stable development release? ...would just installing that be a good idea? Re: [Bug 1271399] Re: display problem since updating to 13.10
1) Downloaded the latest development release & it worked fine--no black bar 2) Rebooted into 13.10 and after the usual daily software updates the problem has gone away. Clock and calendar disappeared briefly, but that's a different bug & I got it fixed. Anyway all clear now. Thanks for your help. I would be interested to know more about what was happening & how it was fixed. [Bug 1271399] [NEW] display problem since updating to 13.10
Public bug reported: If I set the launcher to autohide, it leaves a black bar when it hides. If I move a window into that area the black bar covers it. If I maximize a window (say a browser) and mouse over that part of the screen, it (may) redraw parts of the window (e.g. the back button in the browser). Frame rate in videos & other graphics has also gone way down (some improvement with installing codecs). [Bug 1234839] Re: saucy Beta 2 3.11.0-11 vertical black bar near left edge
Same thing happening to me. Particularly the experience of jerrylamos: Launcher is hidden, when I mouse over the launcher appears where the black bar is, however when launcher hides again the desktop is not restored. Also, as in #5, sometimes there is a vertical sliver of the desktop at the extreme left then the vertical black bar then the desktop. The exact same is happening to me. Not immediately after upgrading--couple days later. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1234839 Title: saucy Beta 2 3.11.0-11 vertical black bar near left edge To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1234839/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
