[Bug 1873550] Re: Snappy daemon reaches 1min30s timeout during shutdown process

2020-10-27 Thread Eugene Lazutkin
I have this bug in 20.10 (upgraded from 20.04). On shutdown it always
waits for 90 seconds, then it times out and the shutdown proceeds
normally. I have the same log as in:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1873550/comments/3

[Bug 1824874] Re: undismissable, unclickable authentication dialog left on screen (top-left corner) after policykit authentication [pushModal: invocation of begin_modal failed]

2020-05-20 Thread Eugene Lazutkin
@~seb128 After resuming from the lock screen. Ubuntu 20.04, upgraded
from 19.10.

BTW, Alt-F2 "r" doesn't help me because after that all windows become
blurry and I have to reboot the computer, which is clearly unacceptable.

[Bug 1799293] Re: gnome session: Must ask twice to lock the screen

2018-11-23 Thread Eugene Lazutkin
It affects me as well. But:

1) I have no auto-login.
2) I have no Dash to Dock installed, so I cannot even try the workaround from
#7.
3) It is 100% reproducible.
4) If I don't lock the screen manually (that is with Win+L) everything works
properly.

In general, I have a feeling that after locking my Gnome instance is
duplicated (one running inside of the other overlapping each other?) ---
hence the need to lock twice and the left panel is not auto-hiding
anymore, and most of the top indicators are missing.

[Bug 1726205] [NEW] gnome-shell crashed with SIGSEGV in meta_window_get_monitor()

2017-10-22 Thread Eugene Lazutkin
Public bug reported:

Cannot boot 17.10 in the lowlatency kernel (with nomodeset and no

happens.

Downloaded kernel 4.4.23, rebooted in it, compiled in zfs, waiting now
to see if it reboots or not. So far it was up for 40 minutes. If
everything goes well, I'll wait several hours, and mark the ticket as
instructed. If not, I'll mark ticket as instructed faster. :-)

[Bug 1629482] [NEW] 4.4.0-38-generic reboots periodically

2016-09-30 Thread Eugene Lazutkin
Public bug reported:

When upgrading a server to 4.4.0-38-generic, it started to reboot every
~45 minutes without any visible reasons. Logs look fine. Just reboots.
My other computer (a desktop) works fine with the same setup. Another
difference: the server hosts ZFS raid.

Unfortunately (fortunately) I had this problem ~2 years ago. That time
after much debugging it turned out to be a kernel problem. So I loaded a
previous kernel (4.4.0-36-generic), and it is rock solid again.

[Bug 1313283] Re: gedit always prints in black and white on color printer

2014-04-30 Thread Eugene Lazutkin
All three files (error_log, printout, ppd) are attached as requested.
printout appears to be a PDF file, and it shows the output as I get it:
black and white, while on the screen it is colored. I double-checked
printer and gedit settings --- color is on in both of them.

Printing to PDF directly leads to the same result: black and white.

2008-04-16 Thread Eugene Lazutkin
I wanted to share a directory, and was asked to install (Samba). When I
clicked Install nautilus crashed. I tried to repeat it, and it crashed
again.

Interesting thing is I used to share those directories before the
upgrade from 7.10 to 8.04, but somehow Samba was uninstalled during the
upgrade. It maybe the upgrade issue as well.

[Bug 107297] Notebook powers off after resuming from suspend/hibernate

2007-04-17 Thread Eugene Lazutkin
Public bug reported:

My notebook is Sager 5460 (AKA Clevo, AKA several other makes). It is
done on Intel chipsets (including graphics). When I try to
suspend/hibernate it does it properly (as far as I can tell), but when I
resume it comes live for about half second and powers off. After that I
should power it on and boot normally. I tried everything, but it can't

[Bug 32415] Re: Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard Broken in Dapper/Edgy/Feisty

2007-04-08 Thread Eugene Lazutkin
Same problem here. I have the latest feisty, and I have to sudo hidd
--search after rebooting, and periodically after that to re-attach the
mouse. I cannot unplug/re-plug the dongle because my notebook has the
internal Bluetooth module.

This bug thread goes for so long! How come it was never fixed? A
noteboook + a bluetooth mouse is a fairy common combination. Heck, I
even use bluetooth mouse on all my computers --- I don't like hanging
wires.
