[Bug 1416490] Re: Kubuntu Window Manager is gone, libraries missing
I have since gone into the system and seen that "kwin" was no longer installed (and obviously not a dependency of the Kubuntu desktop. After manually installing "kwin" the Window Manager returned. So the problem is that some previous update may have removed some of the kwin libraries, as well as kwin, without such action being flagged as a problem. So maybe this is a package dependency issue more than a specific software problem -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1416490 Title: Kubuntu Window Manager is gone, libraries missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kwin/+bug/1416490/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1416490] [NEW] Kubuntu Window Manager is gone, libraries missing

[Bug 519430] Re: setup.py crashed with KeyError in detectNetworkDevices()
Update: after a few more tries, the script now runs and apparently creates the appropriate printer setup. Could you please attach the corrected file? I've tried editing the file a dozen ways to add these lines and get a syntax error each time. I'm not familiar with Python indenting style. [Bug 210303] Re: [hardy] kaffeine loops on "Codec package is already installed"
I experienced the same problem after doing a Medibuntu-recommended security upgrade of its ffmpeg and a number of its library packages. After installing the following packages as updates, I encountered this bug in Kaffeine: ffmpeg_3%3a0.cvs20070307-5ubuntu7+medibuntu1.1_i386.deb libavcodec1d_3%3a0.cvs20070307-5ubuntu7+medibuntu1.1_i386.deb libavformat1d_3%3a0.cvs20070307-5ubuntu7+medibuntu1.1_i386.deb libavutil1d_3%3a0.cvs20070307-5ubuntu7+medibuntu1.1_i386.deb libpostproc1d_3%3a0.cvs20070307-5ubuntu7+medibuntu1.1_i386.deb libswscale1d_3%3a0.cvs20070307-5ubuntu7+medibuntu1.1_i386.deb Deleting ~/.xine and restarting Kaffeine solved the problem. [Bug 135084] Re: Kicker adds _: Entries in K-menu: to certain programs
The problem (with kicker, at least) is addressed by installing the latest version of the package "language-pack-en", version "1:7.10+20071120". This does not fix all of the issues, however. I find that the problem still continues with ktorrent; other apps may also not be updated. -- Kicker adds _: Entries in K-menu: to certain programs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/135084 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 135084] Re: Kicker adds _: Entries in K-menu: to certain programs
This problem may be limited to the kicker.mo file for the en_CA locale (and possibly others). I had the same problem on two recently-upgraded Gutsy systems. In response to the above thread I uncompiled the kicker.mo file using msgunfmt. As I also had the en_GB locale installed, I examined the kicker.mo file for that locale. It appears that the kicker.mo file for the local en_CA, in the currently shipping Gutsy, needs some examination. In addition to its "_: Entries in K-menu" problem, I also note errors in some other fields. A full diff between the en_CA and en_GB versions of (uncompiled) kicker.mo is reproduced below: --- $ diff /tmp/kickerCA.po /tmp/kickerGB.po 3,4c3,4 < "Project-Id-Version: kdebase\n" < "Report-Msgid-Bugs-To: FULL NAME <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>\n" --- > "Project-Id-Version: kicker\n" > "Report-Msgid-Bugs-To: \n" 6,8c6,8 < "PO-Revision-Date: YEAR-MO-DA HO:MI+ZONE\n" < "Last-Translator: FULL NAME <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>\n" < "Language-Team: English (Canada) <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>\n" --- > "PO-Revision-Date: 2007-06-12 15:02+\n" > "Last-Translator: Malcolm Parsons <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>\n" > "Language-Team: British English <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>\n" 12c12 < "X-Launchpad-Export-Date: 2007-10-11 23:57+\n" --- > "X-Launchpad-Export-Date: 2007-10-10 02:53+\n" 336c336 < msgstr "Not Authorized to Read Folder" --- > msgstr "Not Authorised to Read Folder" 366c366 < msgstr "Put Into Run Dialog" --- > msgstr "Put Into Run Dialogue" 494c494 < msgstr ",,[EMAIL PROTECTED],[EMAIL PROTECTED]" --- > msgstr "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" 499,501c499 < msgstr "" < "_: Entries in K-menu: %1 app name, %2 description\n" < "%1 - %2" --- > msgstr "%1 - %2" 506,508c504 < msgstr "" < "_: Entries in K-menu: %1 description, %2 app name\n" < "%1 (%2)" --- > msgstr "%1 (%2)" 513c509 < msgstr ",Launchpad Contributions:,Andrew Hunter,Jonathan Zeppettini" --- > msgstr "Andrew Coles,,Launchpad Contributions:,Malcolm Hunter,Malcolm Parsons" -- Kicker adds _: Entries in K-menu: to certain programs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/135084 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
