[Bug 1925786] [NEW] installer of 21.04 not allowing to use dot symbol in AD administrator username
Public bug reported: So I just tried to install ubuntu 21.04 and checkout how new Active Directory integration works. In my users in ad always have dot symbol in their logins e.g. j.doe, administrators also, but installer displays error message and not allowing enter my administrator user credentials. [Bug 1896775] [NEW] sddm silently fails to open login screen if no good OpenGL
Public bug reported: After updating my system (ubuntu 20.04) I ended in situation with sddm running, but without displaying login screen. Manually starting X in a tty2 let me google for the issue and find old ticket about sddm behaving bad if no valid opengl implementation available. Quick check with glxinfo showed that SGI implementation was used instead of NVIDIA one. After dist-upgrade kernel image and modules were rebuilt and sddm started normally. I understand that in this case sddm failed to start due to unfortunate circumstances resulting in invalid system state. However, in this state it is not possible for inexperienced users to google for the problem. Please, consider at least better diagnostics for the situation until upstream fixes the issue. [Bug 1181666] Re: gnome-shell randomly blocks mouse clicks from working in app windows
Hello anybody. Yes a has same issue too - it happens because an of running application was hung up. System detect it and show pop - up message in the middle of screen about waiting or force closing hung application. More often it happens during debugging an application, when break point was raised and debugger waiting user action so system count this application as hang. Some times it happens so system detect hung application but some reason can't show popup message over hang application. It looks so like wrote on first post - blocking mouse input at any windows except application bar and gnome dashboard. In some application keyboard become locked too, for exaple in Eclipse. Usually i switch to each application and try to interact with it by keyboard typing. If i suspect application hang, i run or switch to gnome-terminal and use command top to detect process id of hang application. Then i found it i use sudo kill As is hang application was closed - normal mouse input will restored. But main question conclude to how to change reaction of system on hanged application - turn off annoing modal dialog. This dialog so bore me a lot. Each time when break point occur during debug process, Unubtu pop up this modal dialog and lock all mouse input in other apps, include debugger too. I need to switch debugging app and press "Wait" in this popup message, some times it need to do more than once. Then I return to debugger continue work. Some one know how to turn off ubuntu hang application detection? ** Attachment added: "1561471346360.jpg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1181666/+attachment/5274133/+files/1561471346360.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181666 Title: gnome-shell randomly blocks mouse clicks from working in app windows To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/1181666/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 405294] Re: A2DP Bluetooth audio skips terribly ["Skipping NNN us (= MMM bytes) in audio stream"]
@vanvugt I've compiled and installed the latest pulseaudio with and without ubuntu patches, and this does not help. Checked with fedora live cd and things work without any problems. Changing @audio group to have rt permissions as well as tuning pulseaudio in its config (setting nice, rtprio, large memory limits and so on) does not seem to change anything. [Bug 405294] Re: A2DP Bluetooth audio skips terribly ["Skipping NNN us (= MMM bytes) in audio stream"]
Hi I have this problem both on 16.04 and 17.10, and it is NOT related to wifi, since on my 16.04 desktop there is no wifi module at all. I tried installing 5.49 blues on 16.04 host, it does not seem to help, but I can not be 100% sure since I did not check whether exact new bt service was operating. 17.10 contrary is macbook laptop with BCM4360 adapter and wl driver, but disabling wifi and removing the module does not help. Rebooting 17.10 with new audio.conf/hcid.conf and using blueman to pair seems to help, but that can be a coincidence. [Bug 1746579] Re: A boxes instead of a Cyrillic chars in VTs
It will be difficult to cope with it remotely :) So, lets start from the beginning. Reboot your machine and prevent grub from booting. Add the 'break=init' command to your kernel line and continue booting. You'll get the initramfs command line. At this moment your console should be already localized. [Bug 1292290] Re: Window manager keybindings don't work after reboot
The root cause of the bug, that you should set and save override option to true (by default it's bugly displaying as true but it's not so), and only ater that you can change your hotkeys, because if you don't set this option your changes will be owerriten after reboot. ** Attachment added: This option should be set as true again, only after this you could save your settings https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-settings/+bug/1292290/+attachment/4228058/+files/xfconf_settings.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1292290 Title: Window manager keybindings don't work after reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xfce4-settings/+bug/1292290/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 992706] Re: hotkeys don't work after switching keyboard layout
The same problem over all software under Ububntu. What's the problem: When I bind for example Ctrl+Alt+L and switch to russian keyboard layout - hotkey doesn't work But if I bind Ctrl+Alt+Д (russian letter on the same key) - hotkey works in russian but doesn't in english I suppose, that binding is being done by character code, not key code (scancode which is assidned to any key on keyboard) and this is wrong. IMHO Hotkey relates to fingers movement but not to first letter of word so it has to be locale independent. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/992706 Title: hotkeys don't work after switching keyboard layout To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/992706/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1004494] Re: Job not run message after any attempt to run a job using bconsole
Exactly. This is a usable though not very easy workaround because you need to modify every parameter in command line. This is the decision from the Bacula bug tracker administrator: It looks like your system or Bacula build is broken. Who build the binaries? By the way, I am building and running Bacula on Ubuntu 12.04, and it works fine for me. - And yes, I think you need to report this to Ubuntu's package maintainer. Bug confirmed for Lubuntu 12.04 LTS Beta 2, kernel 3.2.0-23-generic. ** Tags added: precise ** Description changed: As I upgraded to 2.6.39-0 kernel, bluetooth audio (via a2dp) stopped working properly. It was working fine in 2.6.38-8. My headphones are detected and configured by pulse, but the audio skips as if it's spending half of each second paused. Music is buffered so that after I click stop on audioplayer (or other sound source) the audio continues until it's caught up.
