Sorry, my mistake. I had an old copy of this plugin sitting in ~/.quodlibet (without toggle behaviour). I deleted that when changing things. I thought my one-liner fixed it, where the real fix was deleting the old plugin in ~/.quodlibet. Some laptops (e.g. IBM X60 and some HP models) have a switch to turn off wireless completely. Do you maybe have the Radio Frequency Kill Switch on in the BIOS? I think that disables loading of the wireless driver. Try switching it off in the BIOS.
