** Description changed: I am running Ubuntu-Server 14.04.5 LTS in a HyperV-VM with the Xenial HWE-Stack enabled. Until the kernel 4.4.0-112 everything ran smoothly, but with the kernel update to 4.4.0-116 the system cannot be launched and stops during the boot with the following error message: Gave up waiting for root device. Same behaviour with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. A desktop file in /usr/share/applications was created and following the menu appears. After system reboot the menu disappears.
