[Bug 1686713] Re: [SRU] 2.25
While addressing https://bugs.launchpad.net/snappy/+bug/1689332 the team decided to freeze the ubuntu-core snap and publish the current stable to all the channels, this prevents the error provoked by the new 2.25 package. This was the only blocker, the rest of the verification was good: + Verified bugs associated to the SRU affecting the user interface + Executed manual tests described in [1] + Verified new features from the changelog [2] affecting the user interface + Executed automated spread tests on xenial [3], yakkety [4], zesty [5] [1] https://docs.google.com/a/canonical.com/spreadsheets/d/1blLdL81SpcKBIg8aHX2MJEgGJB9fW0u1Ksm9hbA4ZEQ/edit?usp=sharing [2] https://github.com/snapcore/snapd/blob/master/packaging/ubuntu-16.04/changelog [3] http://paste.ubuntu.com/24517521/ [4] http://paste.ubuntu.com/24518414/ [5] http://paste.ubuntu.com/24535550/ ** Tags removed: verification-failed ** Tags added: verification-done -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1686713 Title: [SRU] 2.25 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1686713/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1612362] Re: [SRU] 2.12
** Description changed: This is a new version of snapd. The changelog for 2.12 is available here https://github.com/snapcore/snapd/blob/2.12/debian/changelog, the raw git changelog is available here: https://github.com/snapcore/snapd/commits/2.12 (note that the debian changelog is auto-generated from the merges of the git commits so there is usually no need to look at the raw git commits). The snappy team released a new 2.12 micro release that we want SRU into xenial. The new process described in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SnapdUpdates was used and we have done integration-tests on the snappy images, autopkgtests on classic and unit tests. The following automatic tests are run: - travis unit tests https://travis-ci.org/snapcore/snapd/branches (check for 2.12 here) - travis/spread based integration/system tests: https://travis-ci.org/snapcore/snapd/branches (check for 2.12 here under "spread") - - jenkins autopkgtests http://162.213.35.179:8080/job/snappy-by-tag-autopkgtest/14/ + - jenkins autopkgtests http://162.213.35.179:8080/job/snappy-by-tag-autopkgtest/16/ - jenkins integration tests: http://162.213.35.179:8080/job/snappy-by-tag-integration-test/17/ The following additional tests were performed: """ - adt-buildvm-ubuntu-cloud - customize the resulting image: "sudo apt install snapd && sudo snap install hello-world && hello-world.env && sudo snap remove hello-world" (ensures the base image has the old debs and the daemon has some state) - adt-run --source snapd_2.12.dsc --- adt-virt-qemu adt-xenial-amd64-cloud.img: PASS """ This included the upgrade from 2.0.11 as part of the autopkgtest run. There are also various snaps installed/removed (including installing and running ubuntu-calculator-app in xvfb) and run as part of the auto pkg test, including reboots to ensure that the system keeps working over reboots. After installing the new snapd it was ensured that apt is unaffected by doing: """ - sudo apt install -y hello && sudo apt remove -y hello """ After installing the new snapd gnome-software was used: """ - install "http" (snap) and remove it again """ All worked as expected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1612362 Title: [SRU] 2.12 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1612362/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1599799] Re: snapd > 2.0.2 fails on yakkety
This is the test executed [1], with [2] the snapbuild binary should be generated. Not sure why it's not present after the test exits in your case, I can find it running locally (yakkety, autopkgtest 4.0.2, command line: "adt-run --unbuilt-tree . --apt-upgrade -s --- qemu ~/adt-yakkety- amd64-cloud.img", image generated with adt-buildvm-ubuntu-cloud). You can generate the snapbuild binary following the steps in the test, set the GOPATH environment variable as in [3] and run [2] from the project's root, it will be available in $GOPATH/bin/snapbuild. Let me know if that works for you. [Bug 1599799] Re: snapd > 2.0.2 fails on yakkety
Hi Pitti, thanks a lot for looking into this. About your questions: * Where do you get this "basic.snap" from? It is built from the source files, from the root of the project something like: integration-tests/bin/snapbuild integration-tests/data/snaps/basic . That should generate a basic_1.0_all.snap file in the current dir. * How can you tell it to just run a single test, or immediately stop after the first failure? To run a single test: SNAP_REEXEC=0 ./tests.test -check.vv -check.f AFAIK we are not able to stop after the first failure. [Bug 1596085] Re: Installing nextcloud snap on Ubuntu Mate Raspberry Pi freezes
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1591148 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1591148 Hey Kyle, sorry for not dropping a comment here explaining the reasons for marking this a duplicate. In the other bug all the problem came from the kernel, not the distro or the arch, as the error message states. The default linode kernels are compiled without apparmor support, and that made snap install fail for every snap. Once I replaced that kernel with the distro one, which includes apparmor support, all went fine. The error message and the behaviour in this case are the same (kernel needs apparmor 2.4 compatibility patch, unable to find suitable fs in /proc/mounts, and hanging forever after trying to install a snap), seems to me like the same problem but of course it can come from a different issue, please feel free to remove the dupe if you think it needs proper research. [Bug 1441023] [NEW] Allow to preserve powerd-cli on cleanup (ssh virt-server)
Public bug reported: Currently powerd-cli gets killed in the cleanup action of ssh-setup/adb. For some tests (power meter related) the daemon should be running after finishing so that the screen doesn't turn off. Given the great flexibility of adt-run an alternative script which doesn't pkill powerd-cli on cleanup can be used, but it would be very useful if we can specify somehow that powerd-cli should be preserved without having to fork the default adb script. [Bug 1423491] [NEW] Can't locate installed perl modules while executing the phone sanity tests
Public bug reported: When executing the sanity tests on the phone with a command like: adt-run --timeout-short=600 -B --unbuilt-tree=$PWD --output-dir ~/workspace/ust --copy ~/.config/ubuntu-sanity- tests.conf:/home/phablet/.config/ubuntu-sanity-tests.conf --setup- commands 'mount -o remount,rw /' --setup-commands 'apt-add-repository -y ppa:canonical-platform-qa/selenium' --setup-commands 'apt-get --no-list- cleanup update -o Dir::Etc::SourceList=/dev/null' --setup-commands 'sync; sleep 2; mount -o remount,ro /' --- ssh -s adb -- -p I'm getting the error: Can't locate Dpkg.pm in @INC (you may need to install the Dpkg module) (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/perl/5.20.1 /usr/local/share/perl/5.20.1 /usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/perl5/5.20 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/perl/5.20 /usr/share/perl/5.20 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at /tmp/adt- run.fhCiGm/deps/usr/bin/dpkg-architecture line 25. The tests use the perl script 'dpkg-architecture', which depends on the Dpkg perl module. dpkg-architecture is pulled by the dpkg-dev package, which depends on libdpkg-perl, the later installs the Dpkg perl module under the deps directory (in the previous example, /tmp/adt- run.fhCiGm/deps/usr/share/perl5), but this is not by default in the @INC paths for perl scripts. As a workaround, setting the PERL5LIB environment variable to /tmp/adt- run.fhCiGm/deps/usr/share/perl5 seems to solve the issue.
