[Bug 695966] [NEW] Evolution CA Certificate import does not work for LDAP servers
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Ubuntu 10.10 - The Maverick Meerkat Evolution 2.30.3 When connecting to an LDAP server using TLS (to use as a contact source within Evolution) there is no GUI available to import a Certificate Authority or ignore an invalid certificate. The only way to use LDAP and TLS in Evolution is to manually edit the ldap.conf file (by adding 'TLS_REQCERTnever' or the local location of the CA cert etc.). I would expect, when using Evolution's Certificate import preferences that importing a CA cert there would cause Evolution (or the LDAP client) to accept the TLS connection. ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: ca certificate evolution ldap tls -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/695966 Title: Evolution CA Certificate import does not work for LDAP servers -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 595028] [NEW] Evolution LDAP connection no TLS even when specified
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution The first time I add an LDAP directory as an address book to Evolution, specifying TLS it will not attempt TLS. To recreate bug: 'New address book' 'On LDAP servers' 'server.example.com' 'port: 389' 'Use secure connection: TLS' 'Login method: Use distinguished name' 'Login: cn=u...@example.com,dc=example,dc=com' 'Search base: ou=Address Book,cn=u...@example.com,dc=example,dc=com' 'Browse this book until limit reached' After entering this information and clicking on the address book, Evolution will ask you for your password. After entering your password Evolution will give you this error: "Error loading address book. This address book cannot be opened. This either means that an incorrect URI was entered, or the server is unreachable. Detailed error message: Other error" LDAP will log this in it's logs: "slapd[7741]: conn=22 fd=23 ACCEPT from IP=IPA.DDR.ESS:52860 (IP=0.0.0.0:389)" "slapd[7741]: conn=22 op=0 BIND dn="cn=u...@example.com,dc=example,dc=com" method=128" "slapd[7741]: conn=22 op=0 RESULT tag=97 err=13 text=confidentiality required" Because, in this case, the connection _has_ to be TLS to be successful. A combination of setting the address book to 'No encryption' then back to 'TLS encryption' and restarting Evolution will result in Evolution initiating a TLS connection and the LDAP directory search being successful. slapd[7741]: conn=26 fd=27 ACCEPT from IP=IPA.DDR.ESS:34093 (IP=0.0.0.0:389) slapd[7741]: conn=26 op=0 STARTTLS slapd[7741]: conn=26 op=0 RESULT oid= err=0 text= slapd[7741]: conn=26 fd=27 TLS established tls_ssf=128 ssf=128 slapd[7741]: conn=26 op=1 BIND dn="cn=u...@example.com,dc=example,dc=com" method=128 slapd[7741]: conn=26 op=1 BIND dn="cn=u...@example.com,dc=example,dc=com" mech=SIMPLE ssf=0 ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: contacts evolution ldap secure tls -- Evolution LDAP connection no TLS even when specified https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/595028 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 275451] Re: nfs mounts specified in fstab is not mounted on boot.
OK... NFS mounts via fstab on boot fine in Ubuntu 10.04 BUT (obviously) not if you are mounting into a directory contained in an encrypted home. [Bug 275451] Re: nfs mounts specified in fstab is not mounted on boot.
I am running Ubuntu 10.04 as an NFS 4 server and 10.04 as an NFS 4 client. I am able to mount NFS shares manually on the client eg. # mount -t nfs4 -o proto=tcp,port=2049 nfs-server:/music /home/user/Music I am also able to mount shares on the client using # mount -a (When there is an entry in fstab.) However, the share is NOT mounted from boot when entered in fstab and any attempts to mount it after a failed 'boot' attempt do not work. The strange thing is that after booting with the mount point entered in fstab '# mount' lists the mount point as being mounted but browsing that directory shows it empty. Here is some relevant config info... -- Client, fstab entry: NFS4Server:music /home/user/Music nfs4_netdev,auto0 0 -- -- NFS4Server, /etc/exports: /export 192.168.1.0/24(rw,fsid=0,insecure,no_subtree_check,async) /export/music 192.168.1.0/24(rw,nohide,insecure,no_subtree_check,async) -- -- NFS4Server, /etc/default/nfs-kernel-server: # Number of servers to start up RPCNFSDCOUNT=8 # Runtime priority of server (see nice(1)) RPCNFSDPRIORITY=0 # Options for rpc.mountd. # If you have a port-based firewall, you might want to set up # a fixed port here using the --port option.
