[Bug 418894] Re: Convert to task not functioning

2009-08-25 Thread Felix Crux
Hi, I just confirmed that this *does* work for me, on 9.04. Using
convert to task both makes a new task show up in the tasks panel in
Evolution, and in the calendar dropdown system panel. Can you confirm
that clicking on the Tasks button in the lower left does in fact not
show anything? Thanks.

[Bug 416867] Re: couldn't log in

2009-08-21 Thread Felix Crux
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include
enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs
effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be
grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.
At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

I'm still not sure I follow what you're asking for. There is already a
way to change the volume through the GUI. The volume of the system is
not a part of Compiz. Please feel free to provide a more detailed

[Bug 398175] Re: g++ crashed with casting

2009-07-11 Thread Felix Crux
I can confirm this on my version of GCC as well (though I can't claim to
understand what the code is *supposed* to do. But clearly the way it
fails is incorrect). All the info required for an upstream bug report is
reproduced below. I could not find an upstream bug for this issue, so
perhaps it should be passed on up to them? I did not do so myself
because the bug reporting instructions don't seem too friendly to
reports from distro-specific packages.

[Bug 398221] Re: export drawing to png failed

2009-07-11 Thread Felix Crux
Just to confirm, are you seeing this bug in the Ubuntu-provided package?
If so, I will mark it as confirmed since we have two separate reports.

If you are only experiencing the bug in a version of the software built
from upstream sources, then this is not something that the Ubuntu
project can fix, and it should be reported to the software developers.
Cheers!

[Bug 396355] Re: synaptic brakes system when applies changes

2009-07-06 Thread Felix Crux
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it yet because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

At a minimum, we need more details on how the system is broken, and what
specific problems you are seeing. Thanks!

[Bug 396342] Re: evolution uninstalls gnome gnome-desktop-environment

2009-07-06 Thread Felix Crux
Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. I just tried, but failed,
to reproduce it on my machine. The step I took was to run (in a
terminal) sudo apt-get autoremove evolution abiword gnome-games and
then I examined the list of packages that would be removed. I did not
see any indication that GNOME would be uninstalled.

Can you please elaborate on how exactly you ran in to the problem, as
well as how you installed GNOME and those programs in the first place?
Is this a standard installation from the CD distribution, or did you
perhaps install GNOME manually at some earlier point? Thanks!

[Bug 395650] Re: OpenOffice 3.1 Impress force to open a png or jpg file with OpenOffice Draw instead of Eye of Gnome

2009-07-05 Thread Felix Crux
I can confirm that under 3.0, the behaviour you wanted (opening under
EoG) is in fact what happens, so if someone can confirm that 3.1 does
not behave this way, this is a legitimate regression. I'm not sure what
the procedure is for bugs that aren't in Ubuntu-provided packages, but
Karmic appears to include OO.org 3.1, so we should be able to get a
repro from there.

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu

confirm whether the file /etc/apt/sources.list contains the word sudo,
particularly on line 54? One way to do this is (in a terminal), run the command
grep -n sudo /etc/apt/sources.list. Thanks again!

PS - If you can, please report bugs in English. If not, we appreciate
your help anyway!

[Bug 395802] Re: Unable to perform upgrade

2009-07-05 Thread Felix Crux
On further thought, I believe that this is more appropriately handled as
a support question than as a bug. I believe the cause of this is an
errant sudo in your sources.list file, which is what the grep
command from my previous comment would hopefully confirm. In that case,
we can fix this for you by helping you identify where the problem is,
and removing that line (or just the sudo part).

[Bug 395747] Re: I cant read the information of links. Positioned on botton/center of the page http://pegn.globo.com/

2009-07-05 Thread Felix Crux
Hi! Thanks for reporting your problem and helping improve Ubuntu. Using
browsershots.org I was able to verify that the given page does not
display correctly in Opera, Chrome, and Safari, as well as in Firefox. I
therefore believe that this is not a bug in Firefox, but rather a case
of the website itself having an error. It seems as though the site was
only tested in Microsoft Internet Explorer, and so it contains errors
that cause it to display incorrectly in other browsers. Because of this,
it is not something that can be fixed in Firefox, and so I am marking
this bug invalid. Thank you again for taking the time to report your
issue, and please continue reporting anything else you may find!

[Bug 301287] [NEW] Rhythmbox freeze between tracks

2008-11-23 Thread Felix Crux
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Although this does not happen consistently, Rhythmbox has had a number
of complete freezeups when switching tracks. The UI becomes somewhat
blanked out (outlines of some elements are visible, but no text or
widgets), and sound output stops. The app becomes completely
unresponsive and has to be killed.

After relaunching Rhythmbox, attempting to play a track results in the
message Couldn't start playback: failed to open output device. Some
other sound-capable apps are also affected: after such a crash, both VLC
and Totem lose audio capabilities, but others, for example, embedded
flash (e.g. YouTube) plays fine.

Running Jaunty (9.04) alpha 1.

[Bug 301071] [NEW] Unmet dependencies (possibly not needed) for package 'newsbeuter' in Jaunty

2008-11-22 Thread Felix Crux
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: newsbeuter

After updating to 9.04, newsbeuter was removed and cannot be
reinstalled. Output:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  newsbeuter: Depends: libmrss-abi-0.19.2
Depends: libnxml-abi-0.18.2 but it is not installable

Changelog found at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/jaunty/+source/newsbeuter/1.2-1
has the following note:

newsbeuter (1.0-3) unstable; urgency=low
  * Remove calls to libnxml-depends and libmrss-depends from rules as they
break newsbeuter upgrades because nxml and mrss stopped providing their
-abi packages (Closes: #496772).

** Affects: newsbeuter (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
