Unable to stop postgresql service after trying to upgrade to postgresql-9.05
from 9.04 (package upgrade failed)
# service postgresql stop

Problem seems to lie in /usr/share/postgresql-common/PgCommon.pm:532
if (open PS, /proc/$pid/comm) {
as 'comm' doesn't exist in /proc/$pid
changed it to:
if (open PS, /proc/$pid/cmdline) {
which solves the problem.
