[Bug 225950] Re: [8.04] Drawing evolution window on screen very slow

A patched version of libxcb for a similar Firefox problem fixes this
problem for me.

You can find this version in from Stéphane Graber PPA:

[Bug 225950] [NEW] [8.04] Drawing evolution window on screen very slow

2008-05-02 Thread Filip Palm
Public bug reported:

When using Evolution on a LTSP client with a great deal of mails i can
see the window slowly being drawn on the screen. All other programs such
as Firefox with intensive pages draws fast.

CPU and RAM is not an issue and the network response time is under 1ms.
This problem even accurs if i only use one client.

Don't know if this bug should be under Evolution or LTSP, move if you
feel that its missplaced.

[Bug 82927] Re: feisty fawn no network connection

2007-02-25 Thread Filip Palm
I have a similar problem with a forcedeth ethernet card.

* If i have set my static IP-adresses with network-admin nm-applet keeps
on saying that i have no network connection.

* If i then empty the interfaces file in /etc nm-applet keeps looking for a
network connection and after a while it says that i have one, it finds my card
but i don't have a connection due to that
i need to configure the IP-adresses statictly.

This feels like hight priority bug, for me its not that hard to just remove
network-manager but for new ubuntu people its a showstopper to not have
internet connection. Okay yes there is a connection but every program that
supports network-manager i need to switch off the Work offline thingy to get
going and thats not easy for new people eather.

[Bug 77184] Re: Missing sound connections on NVidia [HDA NVidia] (Realtek ID 861).

2007-01-03 Thread Filip Palm

** Attachment added: Dmesg output from 2.6.15-23-386.
   http://librarian.launchpad.net/5557398/dmesg-2.6.15-23-386.log

** Description changed:

When going to the alsamixer or the gnome-volume-control i can't find all
  the connection options.

  SPDIF and others are gone.

This worked with the 2.6.15-23-386 kernel but when upgraded to
  2.6.20-2-generic it stopped working.

Will attach dmesg logs from both kernels.

[Bug 67369] Re: Wide screen not correctly detected (16/10)

2007-01-03 Thread Filip Palm
I have a similar problem, i'll write about it here because its
unnecessary to write up a new bugreport about it.

I have an Acer AL1916W widescreen TFT display and it should be set to
1440x900 but its set to 1440x1440 every time i install Ubuntu
Dapper/Edgy.

Card: Nvidia GeForce 6150
Driver: vesa (should be nv)
Monitor : Acer AL1916W
Resolution : 1440x1440 (should be 1440x900)

[Bug 29506] Re: Bluetooth mouse doesn't work.

2007-01-03 Thread Filip Palm
I can confirm this on Edgy to, the way bluetooth devices is handled now
is not very userfriendly.

This should be done automatically not by editing /etc files.

[Bug 76989] MP-BIOS bug on Asus Pundit1 AH2 (Kernel panic)

2006-12-23 Thread Filip Palm
Public bug reported:

I saw some other bugreports about this issue but they are all Fix
Commited, but this isn't fixed.

I get this when i boot my Asus Pundit 1 AH2 barebone:

Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting the kernel.
[..some numbers..] ..MP-BIOS bug: 8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC
[..some numbers..] Kernel panic - not syncing: IO-APIC + timer doesn't work!
Boot with apic=debug and send report. Then try to boot with the 'noapic' option
[..some numbers..] _

I have this problem on all kernels from dapper to edgy. I have tried
feisty but there is another bug so i can't even boot with the noapic
option. It Kernel panics either way.

When i try the apic=debug option nothing happens, just shows me the same
information as before, but if i use the noapic option it boots as it
should (all but the feisty ones).

Let me know if there is anything i can do to help out.

booting the install CD to).
-

Edgy 6.10 with updates installed
* Kernel panic(or crash, debug messages all over the place) when running with
noapic option, without noapic option usplash justs sits there doing nothing.
-

Feisty 7.04 Herd1 fresh install
* Kernel panic(or crash, debug messages all over the place), even with noapic.
-

Feisty 7.04 with updates installed
* Works fine, prints out Failed Failed Failed at boot but works. Will attach

I where just going to write a new bugreport about this issue but i found

If i install bittorrent 5.0 (bittorrent_5.0.0_python2.4.deb) from
www.bittorrent.com this problem is fixed. Why don't we just upgrade
bittorrent 3.x to 5.x for Feisty?

[Bug 8536] Re: Gnome default web browser.

2006-08-07 Thread Filip Palm
At that time epiphany depended on the mozilla-browser and not firefox.

I still feel that if a user installs epiphany it should be set to the
default browser in. I do not know if thats the case now. Havent checked.

The shortcuts can't be removed now because firefox will still be
installed but that was not the case when i wrote the report because
epiphany depended on mozilla and not firefox.
