[Bug 362427] Re: Public key ssh auth doesn't work with my Encrypted Home Directory

2012-08-11 Thread Florian Rathgeber
I don't think the workaround in #12 is practically useful unless you
want to disallow password-based logins. The password is needed anyway to
unlock the ecryptfs key, so imho typing it in once on first login is way
easier than authenticating via public key and then manually unlocking
the encrypted home. Especially since key based authentication works fine
on subsequent sessions i.e. if the user is already logged in at least
once and the home directory is therefore unlocked.

[Bug 923569] Re: Unity does not recognize twinview settings after crash and manual restart.

2012-06-29 Thread Florian Rathgeber
I can confirm the issue with Unity (compiz).

Additional symptom: I'm having the issue (which may or may not be
related?) that Unity detects my 2 displays in twinview as a single
display stretching across both screens called Laptop already before
crashing. That does not seem to normally affect maximize behaviour (i.e.
it works as expected before crashing).

[Bug 927457] Re: Unity hides or loses subsequent windows/instances in launcher.

2012-06-28 Thread Florian Rathgeber
The bug report had expired, hence I reopened it. Yes, the issue is
indeed still present in 12.04: occasionally unity simply forgets about
a particular window and it does neither show up in the alt-tab not the
alt-' and are also not listed in the launcher. I found no way of getting
the window back, not even by killing compiz. I'll provide more symptoms
if it occurs again.

Jelmer, I haven't conciously used dpush from that branch (I hadn't heard
about this command before you mentioned it). However, the branch was
originally converted from an SVN repository, if that can have any
influence.

I'm not sure if I can bring the branch back into the state before the
merge s.t. I can re-test with 2.4 and see if it has been fixed. I'll
report back in case there are any new findings.

[Bug 295741] Re: dbus-daemon memory leak

2010-12-08 Thread Florian Rathgeber
Sorry for bringing this up again, but I see quite similar symptoms on a
current natty install with kernel 2.6.37-5 and dbus 1.4.0-0ubuntu1 on a
DELL E6510 laptop (NVIDIA NVS 3100M). When I try to suspend on battery
(which fails because 2 tasks fail to freeze), dbus starts acting mad
and currently consumes 3.4 GiB of memory! I don't really know what could
be the cause. A related symptom is the gnome indicator-applet peaking
the CPU such that I have to kill the process.

Just wanted to throw that in, maybe someone has an idea or the devs want
to take a look (I'm happy to provide and logs etc. that can help).

I just got the exact same error after booting a clean install of natty.
When I run the binary on the command line, no output is created at all

On another note, my network connection indicators have suddenly
disappeared from the indicator applet and I didn't manage to get them

[Bug 298594] Re: Wrong file names in Kile's errors and warnings summary

2010-08-21 Thread Florian Rathgeber
I was not quite right about that: It only happens for errors in the
preamble, those are reported to occur in the master tex file, but on the
same line they actually occur in the preamble. Errors from files \input
after \begin{document} are reported correctly.

To make my point clear, i have the following structure (strongly
simplified):

master.tex:
  \input{preamble}
  \begin{document}
\input{chapters/chapter1}
...
  \end{document}

Meaning all packages are loaded and all initialization in preamble.tex.
This obviously confuses Kile (though it is perfectly legal) and I
would consider that as a bug.

I still see this problem even using Kile from your PPA on Ubuntu 9.10

I manually set the master file for my project since Kile failed to
detect it (I \input my preamble from a separate file which seems to
confuse it). But I can't imagine how that could cause any problems.
