[Bug 292829] Re: konqueror crashed with signal 7 in Sonnet::Highlighter::Highlighter()

2008-12-14 Thread Fnx
I don't recall exactly, it was a basic action, I was browsing my file with
konqueror after having done some work with KDEnlive.
In the meantime, I stop using 8.10 to stay with 8.04, so I did not put me in a
situation to recreate similar behavior.
Sorry for this limited description, this bug was more or less automatically
generated.

[Bug 200808] [NEW] [Hardy Heron Alpha5] Usb key and hardrive not recognized

2008-03-10 Thread Fnx
Public bug reported:

Hello (K)ubuntu dev team

I have alpha-tested Kubuntu 8.04 alpha 5 as live CD.

Boot happened smoothly.
Big enhancement (for my computer), the hard drive connected to my Serial ATA
Controller (a Silicon Image SiI 3112 [SATALink/SATARaid]) is recognized,
whereas it was not more since Feisty (regression).

The trouble I discovered for hardy is that usb2 devices are not recognized or
generate errors.
I have tested a usb key (brand Seitec), and a mobile hard drive (brand
Freecom).

I have also tested a usb1 key (no brand), which was recognized.

Details of the logs are in attached file.

On edgy, these device are recognized. Here are the lsusb outputs for them
Seitec USB Key: (lsusb)
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 0ea0:2168 Ours Technology, Inc. Transcend JetFlash 2.0 /
Astone USB Drive

Freecom Mobile Hard Drive: (lsusb)
Bus 003 Device 003: ID 07ab:fc86 Freecom Technologies

Best Regards

[Bug 64591] Re: [kubuntu 6.10 beta]Failure to install on harddrive connected to PCI EIDE controller

2006-10-31 Thread Fnx
For those concerned, note that a way to by pass this problem is to use the
"alternate" version of the install CD (instead of the "desktop").
Installation happens in text mode, but it allows you to install on hde or hdg
hardrives.

Thus, the bug seems to be in the qparted software.

Same problem is STILL present an confirmed on the official release 6-10.

Live CD works fine, but installation impossible elsewhere than on
/dev/hda.

(for information: PCI EIDE Controller has Silicon Graphics Sil680 chip)

[Bug 63438] Re: Wrong disc enumeration

2006-10-07 Thread Fnx
Thank you for the precision.
I tried Beta version, and the harddrives seem actually to be correctly
recognized.
However I was not able to make the installation elsewhere than on /dev/hda
(see bug #64591).
It sounds like a qtparted bug to me.

[Bug 64591] [kubuntu 6.10 beta]Failure to install on harddrive connected to PCI EIDE controller

2006-10-07 Thread Fnx
Public bug reported:

Hello
I was trying to install Kubuntu 6.10 beta from live CD.
Installation failed at step 5 (as far as I remember) because I could not make
manually hard drive partition. (Bug may be linked with qtparted package).

I have 3 harddrives which seem to correctely recognized since they appear
correctely in the text.
However when It comes to manually set the partition, only one of the three
(hda1) appear in the list of the available harddrive in the qtparted like
window.

Since I want to keep some partitions on each harddrive, this bug prevent

[Bug 63438] Wrong disc enumeration

2006-10-01 Thread Fnx
Public bug reported:

Hello,
I tested Kubuntu Knot3, and I found same problem as in regarding the
enumeration of the hard drive:

My system (Athlon XP [686] on a Asus Abit NF-7S motherboard) has three
hard drives connected through an inboard IDE controller and a PCI
Silicon Graphic 680 IDE controller.

In breezy and other linux distributions my harddrives are recognized as follow:
/dev/hdaWD disk (plugged on onboard IDE0)
/dev/hdeMaxtor disk (plugged on PCI Sil680 IDE0)
/dev/hdgIBM disk (plugged on PCI Sil680 IDE1)
/dev/hdcCDW Yamaha Drive (plugged on onboard IDE1)
/dev/hddDVD Iomega Drive (plugged on onboard IDE1)

With Edgy Kubuntu/Knot3, attribution of the drives is done as follow
/dev/hdeWD (onboard IDE0)
/dev/hdaMaxtor (PCI Sil680 IDE0)
/dev/hdcIBM (PCI Sil680 IDE1)
/dev/hdgCDW Yamaha Drive (plugged on onboard IDE1)
/dev/hdhDVD Iomega Drive (plugged on onboard IDE1)

In Edgy enumaration is mixed up

>From this wrong enumeration, some problems seem to happen:
Qparted is not able to access hde (WD harddrive), links established in breezy
version are lost, boot failed or hang up...
So this bug totally prevent me to use (K)ubuntu except on live CD.

I reported similar bug for dapper as Bug #49211, considered as duplicate
of #6367.

According to Bug #63433, problem is still not solved in Kubuntu Edgy Eft
beta release.
