[Bug 1895252] Re: help menu entry points to website solely promoting adult products

2020-09-11 Thread Frédéric Brière
This was fixed upstream by linking to a copy on archive.org instead.
Until a future 1.10.3 release comes along, maybe Ubuntu might want to
backport this patch?

https://github.com/LubosD/twinkle/commit/05082ae12051821b1d969e6672d9e4e5afe1bc07
https://github.com/LubosD/twinkle/commit/b756c8cdebc4ab6d0ed0386f3bb1d4a5074cc319

(The second commit merely switched from http to https.)

Reassigning to qtdeclarative-opensource-src; I'll let them confirm in
which version the fix was introduced.

[Bug 1824986] Re: twinkle doesn't start (stack smashing detected) (Lubuntu 18.04)

2019-07-15 Thread Frédéric Brière
Thank you very much for the backtrace.

It would appear this is actually a bug within Qt (libqt5qml5 from the
looks of it). I managed to find a KDE bug[1] with a similar backtrace,
and their conclusion was the same (though they pointed to QtQuick as the
culprit). In any case, I have reassigned this bug to qtdeclarative-
opensource-src.

In the meantime, could you generate another backtrace, this time after
installing the libqt5qml5-dbgsym, libqt5widgets5-dbgsym and
libqt5core5a-dbgsym packages? This should provide more information to
help the Qt team diagnose this bug.

Thanks, and good luck!

2019-07-15 Thread Frédéric Brière
This would appear to be a (now resolved) Qt bug, specifically
QTBUG-48391[1]. The backtrace here (35 frames of Qt on top of Twinkle's
run() method) looks eerily identical to the one in QTBUG-48391 (save for
two extra frames at the top in our case). For the record, the fix[2]
seems to have made it in Qt 5.9.

issue on our GitHub tracker[1], along with a backtrace[2]. (The strace
attachment was appreciated, but it didn't really help in this case,
unfortunately.) Thanks!

[Bug 1603988] Re: twinkle terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::logic_error'

2019-07-15 Thread Frédéric Brière
Hi, Twinkle upstream co-maintainer here. This issue has been filed on
our GitHub tracker[1], and we have a pending pull request which fixes
it[2].

[1] https://github.com/LubosD/twinkle/issues/88
[2] https://github.com/LubosD/twinkle/pull/150

To summarize, this issue arises when two user profiles sharing the same
SIP username are enabled. This would require enabling the "Use domain
name to create a unique contact header value" option (in "SIP protocol"
> "General" > "Protocol options"). Normally, Twinkle would display a
message informing you of this fact, but here it crashes before it had a
chance to do so.

(If Twinkle crashes on start, you probably have both configured to
activate at startup. Manually edit your configuration file
(~/.twinkle/twinkle.sys) and remove the appropriate "start_user_profile"
lines. At this point, Twinkle should start again, and you can enable
the option for both users.)
