[Bug 89062] gaim crashes when receiving animated emoticons [MSN]

2007-03-01 Thread Francesco Accattapà
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gaim

Gaim crashes when I receive an animated emoticon, even if I disable
them. It seems to work fine with standard, non-animated emoticons. I'm
attaching a backtrace of the crash. I'm using an updated edgy system;
gaim version: 2.0.0+beta3.1-1ubuntu9.

[Bug 75776] Closing the lid from a gnome session does not trigger suspend

2006-12-14 Thread Francesco Accattapà
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

If I close my laptop lid after a text-only login, the laptop correctly
suspends; however, if I have an open gnome session, the laptop will not
suspend on lid closure, despite the appropriate setting in gnome-power-
manager.

This happens on an iBook G4 with an Edgy system.

[Bug 75771] Resuming from suspend freezes on iBook if suspending from a graphical session

2006-12-14 Thread Francesco Accattapà
Public bug reported:

Resuming from suspend produce an hard freeze on my Edgy system, but only
if I suspend from a graphical session; it works fine from the console. I
found that a decent workaround is to switch to a console before suspend
and then switch back to the graphical session after resume, by creating
two scripts in /etc/apm/resume.d/00chvt and /etc/apm/suspend.d/99chvt,
respectively executing "chvt 7" and "chvt 8". BTW, suspending and
resuming worked fine in Dapper.

The machine is an iBook G4.

The program crashes on startup. Playing with pdb I've found that the
crash occurs on line 70 of the file /usr/lib/python2.4/site-
packages/Alacarte/MainWindow.py:
