[Bug 75776] Closing the lid from a gnome session does not trigger suspend
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager If I close my laptop lid after a text-only login, the laptop correctly suspends; however, if I have an open gnome session, the laptop will not suspend on lid closure, despite the appropriate setting in gnome-power- manager. [Bug 75771] Resuming from suspend freezes on iBook if suspending from a graphical session
Public bug reported: Resuming from suspend produce an hard freeze on my Edgy system, but only if I suspend from a graphical session; it works fine from the console. I found that a decent workaround is to switch to a console before suspend and then switch back to the graphical session after resume, by creating two scripts in /etc/apm/resume.d/00chvt and /etc/apm/suspend.d/99chvt, respectively executing "chvt 7" and "chvt 8". BTW, suspending and resuming worked fine in Dapper.
