It is a production-server... I cannot just install new releases, etc.

[Bug 231667] [NEW] Broadcom BCM5722 (tg3) acts weird on reboot

2008-05-18 Thread Francesco Peeters
Public bug reported:

Hardy Heron, 2.6.24-17-server, BCM5722 (driver TG3 on Dell PowerEdge
T105) has a weird issue:

If I reboot or remove/reload tg3 with cable connected, the network doesn't
work, even though the system thinks it is up, and link is established.
If I do same with network cable removed, and *then* connect, it works fine!

[Bug 109761] Re: IEEE1394 - Video grab does not work

2007-07-27 Thread Francesco Peeters
I rebooted the machine with these changes:
1) Moved the USB2/1394 card one pci slot over
2) Turned the camera on during boot

Both testlibraw, dvgrab and kino now recognise the camera and
successfully control *and* grab from the camera!

I'll test some more to determine whether it is the on during boot or the
different pci slot that makes the difference!

[Bug 109761] Re: IEEE1394 - Video grab does not work

I see similar behavior... However mine doesn't even give the warnings,
just 'No camera exists'

Just out of curiosity, can you post testlibraw and gscanbus results, so
I can compare with my results? Then I can verify whether I need to open
a new bug or stick with this one... ;)

Although details vary, the main part agrees with above. I too received the
privilege table error.

I cannot check any details anymore, because I needed the database to
run... So I did an 'apt-get remove --purge', then reinstalled and restored
the last backup I had of the database...

Would these only work for Edgy or Dapper as well?

Well... MythTV 0.20 is 'released' now, and Edgy is still a little time

I vote in favor of 0.20 rather than 0.19(-fixes) in Edgy!
