[Bug 1047657] Re: ubiquity crashed with dbus.exceptions.DBusException in call_blocking(): org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.Settings.Connection.PropertyNotFound: 802-1x

2012-10-14 Thread Francesco Ruvolo
Still here on Quantal Final.
I think this is a serios bug (if not, is just because this encryption methos
isn't so common). I can't actually connect to the wireless if persistance is
enabled, as it will save the wireless preference on next boot and the system
became unusable.

[Bug 1047657] Re: ubiquity crashed with dbus.exceptions.DBusException in call_blocking(): org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.Settings.Connection.PropertyNotFound: 802-1x

2012-10-08 Thread Francesco Ruvolo
I had the same problem with a Live session with persistance. The first
boot was all right, but during the second boot, as the system remembers
wifi settings from previous session, it prompt for the password before
the ubiquity screen appears. As I clicked to ignore certificate (I
assume I and Cristopher are using the same authentication method)
ubiquity crashed.

[Bug 1046244] [NEW] plasma-desktop crashes with SIGFAULT on boot

2012-09-05 Thread Francesco Ruvolo
Public bug reported:

I'm testing Quantal Beta 1. The build 20120904 for Kubuntu is not usable as
live system.
plasma-desktop crashes on boot leaving you with a black screen where the only
visible window is the apport one suggesting you to report a bug against
plasma-desktop. Unfortunately, it didn't work at all. I tried ubuntu-bug from
another tty and I'm attaching the output (but it seems to be only a list of
packages).

Let me know if I can provide you more detail. I'm filing the bug against
casper as it was found on a live session.

[Bug 924901] [NEW] xubuntu live shows ubuntu's boot screen

2012-02-01 Thread Francesco Ruvolo
Public bug reported:

Hi,

actually I don't have any idea if this is a real bug or it is expected
to do it. However, it never was like this and that's why I suspect it's
a bug.

I'm testing precise xubuntu amd64 precise alpha 2, and when I boot it, i
get for few seconds the purple screen of Ubuntu (the one with the
keyboard and the man at the bottom).

It sounds me quite strange, also becouse that purple has nothing to do
with Xubuntu's colors.

I didn't try with i386 ISO, I'm downloading it, so I'll do it. Ubiquity icon is
displayed.
Booting again, the new folder that I created before appears on the desktop, but
it still doesn't show new folders and documents.
lxtask show me that pcmanfm is in S state.

[Bug 671374] [NEW] ubuntu 10.10 freezes randomly

2010-11-05 Thread Francesco Ruvolo
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I can't use Ubuntu since the 10.04 realease becouse it freezes randomly on my
computer.
Doesn't matter what I'm doing (reading email, surfing webpages, writing on
office). I can say that it doesn't if I'm not in front of the computer and I'm
actively using it. So, it means that I can copy 40gb of data and it does it
correctly... but I'm in front of it, moving mouse or keybord, it freezes.

I did the memtest more than once and everithing is ok. The alimentation
is ok, too (I don't know how to call it in english, but I use the device
with the battery inside to avoid problem with alimentation).

Now, other thing: when the 10.04 was released I started to use debian lenny and
for six months I hadn't any problem. Now, when the 10.10 was released and I had
the same problem, I tryed to upgrade lenny to squeeze... debian started to
freezes, too.
Six months of lenny I think that are enough to exclude that mine is an hardware
problem. Or maybe the new kernel or some programs use my hardware in a non
supported way... I don't know.

For sure I can say that debian squeeze freezes less than ubuntu: with
debian it happen once a day, with ubuntu once an hour.

Please, let me know if I can help you to fix this annoying problem. :(

Bye

[Bug 602726] [NEW] suspend to ram fails each attempt after the first

2010-07-07 Thread Francesco Ruvolo
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I was testing Ubuntu 10.10 Alpha 2 on my laptop and it fails the snr-002
test. Then I tried again the snr-001 and it didn't work too.

Rebooting and trying again (several times) show me that each suspend-to-
ram attempt, after the first one, fails.

The screen became blank, as expected, but after few seconds come back to
GNOME. It works properly in Ubuntu 10.04 and it works also in Maveric

[Bug 586012] Re: [Maverick] XFCE system tray became unusable after libgtk upgrade

2010-06-05 Thread Francesco Ruvolo
Same for me.

I had to kill xfce4-power-manager e xfce4-volume-control-applet to use
the system.
