[Bug 673768] [NEW] part of the config screen is off screen + buttons

2010-11-10 Thread Francois Thunus
Public bug reported:

I have seen it reported for the printer config, but this is really for all
config screens.
Netbook edition used to be perfect for the asus 701, but it is becoming really
impossible to configure.
I managed to erase two wallpapers trying to guess how many times I needed to
press the tab to land on the right button (off screen), had to redo the
language several times cause I was hitting back, etc
Used to be possible so please go back to previous system OR design screen
better
Thanks

[Bug 574725] [NEW] [netbook] synaptic removal leaves evolution icon behind

2010-05-03 Thread Francois Thunus
Public bug reported:

Well that's about it I guess. I suppose this is a bug in the evolution
packaging, rather than the software itself, most likely a post-removal script
missing or something. no biggie.
it happened on two different machines, so the bug is consistent.
In fact, on one machine I remove from a terminal with aptitude purge, and on
the other, thinking it was because I had by passed the graphical interface, did
it with synaptic. didn't work either.
I'll have a look at the doc to see where I need to tweak the config to get rid
of icon manually.
Cheers

[Bug 386051] [NEW] clock gnome applet has incorrect data

2009-06-11 Thread Francois Thunus
Public bug reported:

My mistake. System doesn't seem to allow for erasing an errouneous bug report.
The font was too small and I just notice it was not Corfu but Corlu.
Please disregard

  Using Jaunty
The default applet displayed top right.
- I could not locate the package this applet comes from. for all I know it
might even be an applet.
+ I could not locate the package this applet comes from. for all I know it

It is nowhere to be found in the pages where the policy redirects to find the
package (this may need to be corrected as well)
anyway. The applet itself works, the error comes from the data (i'd correct
the file myself, but again WHERE is it ???)
If you enter Corfu as a city, the only Corfu suggested is located in Turkey.
Now, there may well be a Corfu in Turkey, but last time I was there, I could
have sworn it was a GREEK island

[Bug 372665] Re: aDSL connection program

2009-06-09 Thread Francois Thunus
Attached a screenshot of my problem: the application shows a DSL tab, not an
aDSL. This might be confusing for some people. So a note somewhere saying
(a)DSL would be nice. But my main problem, the reason I could not figure it out
is the second field. First field is user name - ok third field is password
-ok. But what on earth is the second field ??? Service ? no idea what I should
put in there. Again, a word of explanation is all it would take. In fact, after
looking at the network manager, I now suppose that what is required there is
probably tcp, but that is just a guess. If the number of possibilities is
limited and standard, a drop down menu would help.
Cheers and sorry for taking so long

[Bug 333359] Re: Mobile Broadband configuration wizard does not fit on 480px vertical resolution

2009-05-02 Thread Francois Thunus
I have the same problem using the jaunty jack dated 27 april.
I could not set the broadband connection because I can't see the bottom of the
screen. Unfortunately, the problem does not affect the dsl wizzard only.
I have been looking around the system (i'm a debian user) to get a look and
feel, and bumped into several (gnome ?) applications which exhibit the same
behavior. I'll get back to you when I have more hard data. I'll start by
installing a copy of JJ on a spare partition so I can test it and get
acquainted with its utilities. It took me ages to find the network
configuration by the way. Why isn't it under internet, simply ?
Otherwise great job.
Cheers
