[Bug 1624179] [NEW] zfs property 'shareiscsi' listed in man page, but not supported.

2016-09-15 Thread Frank Roberts
Public bug reported:

The 'shareiscsi' property for ZFS volumes is listed in the manpage for
the 'zfs' command, but the property cannot be set on ZFS volumes.

root@monremonda:~# zfs create -V 25g zpt/eridian-zv

root@monremonda:~# zfs set shareiscsi=on zpt/eridian-zv
cannot set property for 'zpt/eridian-zv': invalid property 'shareiscsi'

>From 'man zfs':

   shareiscsi=on | off

Like the sharenfs property, shareiscsi indicates whether a ZFS
volume is exported as
an iSCSI target. The acceptable values for this property are on,
off, and type=disk.
The default value is off. In the future, other target types might
be supported. For
   example, tape.

You might want to set shareiscsi=on for a file system so that all
ZFS volumes within
the file system are shared by default. However, setting this
property on a file system
   has no direct effect.

It is also listed in the permissions section:

Permissions are generally the ability to use a ZFS subcommand or
change a ZFS property.
   The following permissions are available:

   ...

 reservation property
 secondarycache property
 setuid property
 shareiscsi property
 sharenfs property
 sharesmb property

   ...

Finally, it is listed in the examples section:

   Example 7 Listing ZFS Properties

The following command lists all properties for pool/home/bob.

 # zfs get all pool/home/bob
 NAME PROPERTY VALUE SOURCE

 ...

 pool/home/bob acltype offdefault
 pool/home/bob aclinheritrestricted default
 pool/home/bob canmount on default
 pool/home/bob shareiscsioffdefault
 pool/home/bob xattr on default
 pool/home/bob copies1 default
 pool/home/bob version 4 -

 ...

I suspect there is a good reason that the property is not supported, but the
documentation should be changed so that it does not suggest that 'shareiscsi'
is a valid property.

2009-11-04 Thread Frank Roberts
I'm keeping to get some kind of kernel problems of this sort.. I suspect it
might have some relations with this bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/435352

Are there any MSI Wind users having these issues?

[Bug 435352] Re: regression: uvcvideo module makes cannot reset port error on usb with bison webcam (5986:0203): USB and suspend fails

2009-11-01 Thread Frank Roberts
that solution just works temporarily, it will be reset when you reboot
your system. So its no solution. The only way to prevent the problems is
to BOOT with the usb cam off (if your turn it off later, it won't work).
As long as you keep the webcam off, you can use every USB port and get
no error messages, but the webcam doesn't work.

[Bug 435352] Re: regression: uvcvideo module makes cannot reset port error on usb with bison webcam (5986:0203): USB and suspend fails

2009-10-26 Thread Frank Roberts
I have the same problems here on a Medion Akoya E1210 with the Release
Candidate.

I had VERY much trouble even installing karmic RC from a usb drive
(getting random errors while the MD5Sum of the image was correct and
using multiple usb sticks). When I finally managed to install it, after
about 10 minutes i was dropped to the console with the same error log.

My question is; now I can only boot into console mode... how can I fix
this? The USB camera is off now (FN-F6) but I still only can boot into
the console. When i do startx i get a cursor on a black screen with
nothing else on it...

[Bug 424822] Re: Karmic A5: changed icons don't show up in Favorites

2009-09-07 Thread Frank Roberts
** Summary changed:

- Karmic A5: changing icons in menubar doesnt work
+ Karmic A5: changed icons don't show up in Favorites

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: main-menu

In the Karmic Netbook Remix Alpha 5 (installed on a Medion Akoya 1210),

- it is not possible to change the icons of the Ubuntu Netbook Desktop
- using the System - Main Menu tool: it doesn't recognize any file to use
- as an icon.
+ When changing the menubar icon of an item, it does show up, but when
+ adding the selected item to the Favorites bar, it shows the original
+ icon instead of the new one.

This was tested with different png, jpeg and tiff images with
resolutions 32x32, 64x64, 128x128. Its quite annoying because much icons
in the netbook menu are too blurry or low-res.

[Bug 424823] [NEW] Karmic A5: Changing Appearance removes Netbook Desktop

2009-09-05 Thread Frank Roberts
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: lxappearance

In the Karmic Netbook Remix Alpha 5 (installed on a Medion Akoya 1210),

it quite often happens that when changing the theme using System -
Appearance, the Netbook Desktop disappears and only the upper status bar
is on the screen. The only way to fix this is by restarting the system.

Note; it does not change every time and is not theme dependent too; it
looks like its totally random.

[Bug 424827] [NEW] Karmic A5: Installing Icon Themes doesn't work in Netbook Desktop mode

2009-09-05 Thread Frank Roberts
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: lxappearance

In the Karmic Netbook Remix Alpha 5 (installed on a Medion Akoya 1210),

it is not possible to install themes using System - Appearance while in
Netbook Desktop mode; when selecting the theme pack (tested with Icon
Gartoon theme and Human Netbook theme), the application crashes and
doesn't install it. It DOES work if I change to the normal Ubuntu
Desktop mode; so it's a problem affecting the Netbook Desktop.
