[Bug 632576] Re: evolution 100% cpu
The problem seems circumvented, although I do not know why. The problem went away when I do NOT override the server-supplied folder namespace. Previously, in Lucid, in Account Editor, under the 'Receiving Options' tab, in the 'Folders' section I had selected 'Override server-supplied folder namespace' and had provided my mailbox folder in the associated Namespace edit box. In Lucid, this was the only way I could prevent Evolution from downloading my entire home directory on the university servers. I was experiencing the problems in my original post with these settings carried over from Lucid. By deselecting the 'Override server-supplied folder namespace' option, the problem appears to have gone away. However, this is not entirely satisfying, as I'm not sure how this problem arose in the first place. Please let me know how I can help. -- evolution 100% cpu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/632576 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 632576] [NEW] evolution 100% cpu
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution In Maverick (10.10) beta, evolution (2.30.3-1ubuntu1) goes to 100% cpu trying to update inbox and check for new messages on a rather straightforward IMAP account. When each of these activities had remained unchanged at 0% progress after 10 minutes, I forcibly shutdown evolution. This appears very similar to bug #529622, for example, but I could not find this bug reported for Maverick. [Bug 571293] [NEW] cannot open file from directory having particularly punctuated name
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince When attempting to open a pdf in evince 2.30.0 from a directory having a particularly punctuated name (e.g., with colons ':'), the pdf is not opened and evince returns the error message Unable to open document: The specified location is not supported. This appears to be similar to, but different than, bug #112125. This is occurring in Lucid 10.04 release candidate, but occurred in 9.10 as well. Steps to recreate: 1) On the command line, create a directory with a colon in the name (e.g., `mkdir ~/Desktop/fu\:bar`) 2) Copy a pdf into that directory (e.g., `cp trololo.pdf ~/Desktop/fu\:bar/`) 3) Attempt to open the pdf from *outside* that directory (e.g., `evince ~/Desktop/fu\:bar/trololo.pdf`) 4) See the error message, but not your document However, if you change directory to the nefarious directory and open from there, the problem goes away: 1) e.g., `cd ~/Desktop/fu\:bar` 2) `evince trololo.pdf` 3) Ah! There you are! [Bug 552886] [NEW] empathy stalls on first setup
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: empathy Description:Ubuntu lucid (development branch) Release:10.04 empathy: Installed: 2.30.0-0ubuntu4 Candidate: 2.30.0-0ubuntu4 On the first setup of the empathy, when I select that I have further chat accounts to setup (radio button for 'Yes' selected) and hit 'Forward', I'm taken to a blank frame with three buttons at the bottom ('Cancel', 'Back', 'Forward') and nothing else. [Bug 484710] Re: laptop hibernates when plugged in to ac power
This happens to me, without fail, on my Lenovo Thinkpad T400 whenever I plug in the power after the power manager reports 'critically low' battery life (usually around 5%). Either there is some similarity between the MacBook2,1, the Studio 15, and the Thinkpad T400 with regards to power management, or Karmic's power manager is fundamentally flawed. -- laptop hibernates when plugged in to ac power https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/484710 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 491695] Re: Evolution incessantly Scanning folders in IMAP server ... with SSL
I was able to overcome this problem by selecting Show only subscribed folders in [Account Editor]-[Receiving Options] and by selecting Override server-supplied folder namespace in the same tab, with the namespace (two double quotes). [Bug 491695] [NEW] Evolution incessantly Scanning folders in IMAP server ... with SSL
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution In 9.10 with evolution 2.28.1-0ubuntu2, I set up the details of my university imap account with SSL and password authentication, and the program hangs with the status bar message `Scanning folders in IMAP server imap.[address] (...)'. I expect my various mailboxes and inbox to appear in less than 5 minutes. With Thunderbird and Apple Mail, these mailboxes appear in under 20 seconds. I have been waiting for 10 minutes. It's possible that Evolution is scanning all folders in my home directory, not just my mail directories. [Bug 85559] Re: Docking iPod Shuffle makes USB die
I just had a very similar experience, except with kernel 2.6.20-15-generic, with an up-to-date Feisty as of May 4 2007 (otherwise it appears similar). I plugged my ipod into my Compaq Presario V2000 laptop by usb, at which point my usb optical mouse stopped working. Unplugging and replugging the mouse did not reactivate it, and the red indicator LED in the mouse just blinked on and off while it was plugged in. The ipod did not appear to be recognized, and did not display the 'do not disconnect' screen. My synaptics trackpad (on /dev/psaux, receiving core events) still worked but very quickly became drastically overheated, at which point I rebooted, with all usb devices plugged in and now they all appear to work, and the trackpad has returned to normal. There was nothing exceptional about my usage up to that point - Firefox, Rhythmbox, a terminal running emacs, and gaim.
