[Bug 786114] [NEW] liferea does not get focus when selected from messaging menu
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: liferea When selecting liferea from the messaging menu, the window opens, but does not get the focus. This means that the global menu displayed is still that of the previously active application. This is especially annoying if you try to close the application, as it will close whatever was active before. How to reproduce: 1. Have e.g. Firefox open and maximized 2. Select Liferea from Messaging Menu --> Window opens 3. Click close button in Global Menu --> Firefox closes, Liferea stays open ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: liferea 1.6.4-1ubuntu7 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-8.42-generic 2.6.38.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-8-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Sat May 21 11:46:44 2011 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" - Beta i386 (20110330) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=de:en LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: liferea UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: liferea (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 natty running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/786114 Title: liferea does not get focus when selected from messaging menu -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 658672] Re: nozomi module completly crashes ubuntu after 3G connection is established
I just tried the i386 Live-CD to check if this is an issue of the 64bit version. In the Live environment, the card was instantly recognised, I was asked for the PIN and could connect. I didn't even have to modprobe nozomi. As there was no freeze after starting Firefox and surfing a bit, I decided to install this instead of the 64 bit version. Unfortunatly, after installation, the same problem as before. Ubuntu almost instantly freezes when I start Firefox or Evolution. What is strange though is that it takes a lot longer until the freeze if I just use the terminal. I wanted to check for Updates, so I did apt-get update, which went fine and then apt-get upgrade, which downloaded the first 10-20MB fine before freezing again. -- nozomi module completly crashes ubuntu after 3G connection is established https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/658672 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 658672] Re: nozomi module completly crashes ubuntu after 3G connection is established
Hi, I booted a live-cd after reproducing the bug again, so the logs would be right until the freeze. One thing I noticed playing around a bit is, that the freeze only appears when I actually try to use the connection. I can load the module, enter the PIN and connect and the computer will work just fine. Just when I open a program that transfers data (Evolution, Pidgin, Firefox) the freeze will appear after a couple of seconds. ** Attachment added: "dmesg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/658672/+attachment/1686253/+files/dmesg -- nozomi module completly crashes ubuntu after 3G connection is established https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/658672 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 658672] [NEW] nozomi module completly crashes ubuntu after 3G connection is established
Public bug reported: I have a Option GT Fusion+ mobile broadband PCMCIA card (Qualcomm MSM6275), which in previous releases used the nozomi driver and worked pretty well. Now after installing Maverick, the card was not recognised at all. As there was not much information around I simply tried "sudo modprobe nozomi". The card was then recognised and NetworkManager asked for a PIN, I set up the connection details and NM also established a connection. The problem is, shortly after the connection is established, the computer completely freezes, no more key/mouse inputs are recognised, only a hard reset works. This is on a fresh install (no upgrade) of Ubuntu 10.10 64bit. Please let me know which further information or logs you need. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- nozomi module completly crashes ubuntu after 3G connection is established https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/658672 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 501972] Re: messages stored but not displayed
I have (I think) the same problem on a Jaunty 64bit. I was wondering why I did not get any new Emails the last few days from any POP3 accounts (Hotmail, web.de, gmail). Now Pidgin today notified me of a new mail in Hotmail, I went to Evolution to fetch it, it said it was getting the mail, but nothing showed up in the inbox. So I went to Hotmail itself to check if there was mail and just found it in the Trash there, alongside some other mails from the last few days. This pretty much makes Evolution unusable for me. If there is anymore info I can provide please let me know. Testing on Karmic is not possible for me, as it does not recognise my UMTS-modem and therefore can't connect to the internet. -- messages stored but not displayed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/501972 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 330824] Re: Soft lockups (freezes) when deleting files from ext4 partitions on 2.6.28
I highly doubt that it had something to do with permissions, as there were really all kinds of files (audio, video, documents..) from different sources (downloads, self-made..). [Bug 330824] Re: Soft lockups (freezes) when deleting files from ext4 partitions on 2.6.28
I just read through all the comments (I hope), and did not find this mentioned, so I thought it might be helpful.. I had the problem for a long time, but didn't bother too much. Now it got annoying and after some searching I installed mainline 2.6.30 to see if it would work. As has been mentioned here before it does, but unfortunatly my UMTS didn't work anymore, so I just deleted my Trash and went back to .28 After logging in I found I had 10GB more space on my Home-Partition (the Trash only had ~1GB in it) The partition is only 40 GB total, so that's a lot. I checked if something was missing, but didn't find anything, which was strange. I ran baobab just out of curiosity and there I found 5GB in ~/.local/share/Trash/expunged/ On closer inspection these were all files I supposedly deleted a long time ago, when the freeze appeared afterwards. I have no idea how they got there, I'm just a user...but maybe that info can point someone into the right direction. -- Soft lockups (freezes) when deleting files from ext4 partitions on 2.6.28 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/330824 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

It seems that due to the crash some files in /usr/share/gconf/schemes are now 0 byte, eg. /usr/share/gconf/schemas/gnome-terminal.schemas Is there a way to reset these schemes to default?
