I can reproduce this on a Herd 4 system. When Iog out, it doesn't take me to KDM, but rather takes me to a black screen. David, the issue with your crash report is that it does not have debugging symbols attached to it. Have you installed the debugging symbols (in a terminal: sudo apt-get install firefox-dbg).
