[Bug 1928014] [NEW] slurmctld 19.05.5-1 packages wrong version of /usr/share/doc/slurmctld/slurm-wlm-configurator.html

2021-05-10 Thread Gabriel Devenyi
Public bug reported:

The SLURM documentation clearly states that the configurator html pages
are version specific.

The file /usr/share/doc/slurmctld/slurm-wlm-configurator.html which is
supposed to be the configuration generator for the installed version
19.05.5-1 in-fact states:

> This tool supports Slurm version 19.02 only.

[Bug 1782873] Re: Snap apps don't start, when /home is provided by a remote NFS server

2019-03-21 Thread Gabriel Devenyi
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1662552 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1662552

This bug is still present for AutoFS mounted homedirs.

The issue is NFS detection only happens at snapd start, and on boot no
NFS shares are mounted yet.

If an AutoFS NFS user logs in, and then snapd is restarted, NFS support
is enabled

@ahasenack is correct.

@racb, this bug is fixed in the sense that I found the appropriate

[Bug 1252121] Re: missing PrepareForSleep signal after resuming, causing networking to stay disabled

2014-01-21 Thread Gabriel Devenyi
I can't participate directly in this bug anymore because I've done a
reinstall.

Having said that, the following configuration now *works* for me.

Ubuntu-Gnome 13.10 install (from scratch)
Gnome-next ppa
Gnome-staging ppa
TLP from https://launchpad.net/~linrunner/+archive/tlp

TLP properly manages my power settings, and gnome-shell suspends via its
menus, via the system hotkeys and resume properly brings up the network.

Looks like me like it might be a unity bug or part of the bits that
unity depends on, but gnome-shell doesn't.

[Bug 1252121] Re: missing PrepareForSleep signal after resuming, causing networking to stay disabled

2013-12-05 Thread Gabriel Devenyi
New crazy thing I just experienced!

I woke the system from suspend (which I had suspended from the key
combination), 20-30 seconds later, the screensaver did it's lock thing
(while I was using the machine, it wasn't idle), I hit a key, it lit up
and I typed in my password, 30 seconds later again, it did it again.

When I unlock it again... NetworkManager miraculously woke up and
connect to wifi!

I had not noticed this previously because it took so long and I would
usually have killed NetworkManager first..

I need to try and get a log from this odd behaviour..

Essentially, it's a highly configurable battery/AC profile manager.

[Bug 1252121] Re: missing PrepareForSleep signal after resuming, causing networking to stay disabled

2013-11-29 Thread Gabriel Devenyi
That is a very interesting observation, I also use TLP to control my
battery/AC transition of settings.

I can't test with a LiveCD due to there being a no-display kernel bug
with some intel cards and that kernel version though...

[Bug 1241871] Re: 13.10 kernels (3.11.x) Fail to light up certain intel backlights

2013-10-31 Thread Gabriel Devenyi
Well there's a couple of serious bugs in the existing installer right
now...

Btrfs is broken https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1224443
And this bug, which prevents installation of ubuntu onto a huge swath of
ultrabooks out there, including the Dell XPS 13 "developer edition" which comes
pre-installed with ubuntu..
http://www.dell.com/us/business/p/xps-13-linux/pd

Not saying it looks bad or anything...

[Bug 1241871] [NEW] 13.10 kernels (3.11.x) Fail to light up certain intel backlights

2013-10-18 Thread Gabriel Devenyi
Public bug reported:

Bug has been ongoing since 3.10-rc6

Certain UEFI laptops incorrectly report their BPP on their display,
causing kernel modesetting to fail

Full details see:
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59841

Developers have refused to quirk the regression, causing no display on a
a large number of systems.

Upgraded installations will boot with no display, and the installer will
have no display.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Incomplete

Sorry for all the noise, it appears that on a cold boot my function keys
do work, however the bug of no keyboard backlight after resume still
remains.

[Bug 1191048] Re: UX32VD Keyboard Backlight Non-functional after suspend/resume

2013-06-25 Thread Gabriel Devenyi
Okay, well I managed to test with 3.9.7-030907-generic from the kernel
mainline source.

Now, the keyboard backlight is completely off on cold boot, the function
keys do nothing, and the screen backlight keys change it very very
slowly and no longer trigger the OSD of the brightness changing.

The /sys/class/leds/asus::kbd_backlight/brightness item is now missing
as well.

Looks like there's a regression in asus_wmi module?

[Bug 1191048] Re: UX32VD Keyboard Backlight Non-functional after suspend/resume

2013-06-20 Thread Gabriel Devenyi
I'd like to test this out right now, but the combination of xorg-edgers,
intel's driver ppa and 3.10 results in no X for me currently.

I will try again when the next -rc release(or intel updates) comes out
in the hope that it gets fixed up.

I can't find here to add the "kernel-unable-to-test-upstream" tag... oh
how I wish this were bugzilla...

[Bug 1191048] [NEW] UX32VD Keyboard Backlight Non-functional after suspend/resume

2013-06-14 Thread Gabriel Devenyi
Public bug reported:

On a cold boot, the UX32VD's keyboard backlight correctly functions, and
I can adjust it's brightness using Fn+F3 and Fn-F4.

After a suspend/resume the backlight is now off, the function keys do
not adjust it and trying to manually interact with its sys interface at
/sys/class/leds/asus::kbd_backlight/brightness has no effect

[Bug 889647] Re: ubiquity 'rm -rf's all directories in filesystems mounted during install!

2012-02-15 Thread Gabriel Devenyi
It was most certainly called /backup2, in the hopes of avoiding this
exact issue and to avoid interaction with any important directories.

Unfortunately it's been a long time and I was too flustered trying to
recover my data to think of retaining the log. Sorry.
