There's a script trying to do this in /etc/X11/Xsession.d/99syndaemon-
launch.

In mine, I changed the line:
$SYNDAEMON -i $SYN_IDLE -d
to:
$SYNDAEMON -S -i $SYN_IDLE -d -t
