This is a serious problem, it can affect other devices on the network while appearing to work fine for the machine running it. It caused me to buy and return 2 wifi routers and spend 20 hours of time debugging the situation. Switching to b43 on 13.04 resolved the network issues on my dell latitude e6510, but it has the familiar suspend/resume problem (reload the module as a workaround). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1169653 Title: Ubuntu 13.04 / 12.04 // Lenovo B590 MBX29GE/627429G // WLAN Broadcom BMC 43142 and ACPI Issues/Bugs // kernel-bug-exists-upstream To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/1169653/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 492684] [NEW] suspend hangs system with any 2.6.32 kernel
Public bug reported: Karmic worked fine, since I've started testing lucid, I've had problems with 2.6.32. First suspend is usually ok. Second will hang the laptop and requires hard reboot. I've tried the ubuntu linux-image-generic, and zen-kernel as well through multiple rc's of 2.6.32 hoping it would get fixed. With zen-kernel, tuxonice would have the same problems in 2.6.32. [Bug 395198] [NEW] nm-applet crashes when looking at it funny and so do other apps.
Public bug reported: This happens with network-manager, pidgin and others in the current karmic packages. I've been having this problem for about 1 week. Just sporadically using the interface will cause it to crash. In pidgin, an incoming message will cause a crash. I think it's gtk related. [Bug 394715] [NEW] transmission and other gtk apps segfault when opening dialogs sporadically
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: transmission I've been having this problem for a few weeks with gtk apps on karmic. Seems like pidgin isn't doing it anymore, but recently, nm-applet and transmission have been giving me trouble. If I open the preferences pane, it'll just segfault with a probability of about 0.5. [Bug 379201] Re: NetworkManager attempts to connect to unavailable previously connected network when resuming from suspend
I was using madwifi before, and i didn't have this problem. One cumbersome workaround is to edit the pm-utils scripts to unload and reload the ath5k module on resume. [Bug 379201] Re: NetworkManager attempts to connect to unavailable previously connected network when resuming from suspend
This happened to me on intrepid/jaunty/karmic when I switched to the ath5k driver. I have this problem right now. I don't think it's networkmanager's fault. It seems the previous connected network shows up in the scanning list before real networks do, and then it doesn't go away.
