[Bug 2072385] [NEW] not able to upgrade to ubuntu 24.x04 due to lack of ubuntu-minimal on system
Public bug reported: the error message I receive says the following: After updating your package information, the essential package 'ubuntu- minimal' could not be located. This may be because you have no official mirrors listed in your software sources, or because of excessive load on the mirror you are using. I don't know why Manjaro 18 (Gnome) works for me?maybe I got lucky ;-); clean install, no damn boot args, everything works( brightness keys, trackpad on advanced, etc), power management works like a charm. At first, I had a WiFi bug, which was fixed when I updated Manjaro using ethernet connection. My laptop is Acer Aspire A315-41(Ryzen 5 2500u).Also, there will be no WiFi issues if you can use KDE version, but just find it very buggy and slow, so kept using Gnome -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1776563 Title: Acer Aspire A315 IOAPIC failure on Ubuntu 18.04, kernel hangs, can't load, kernel freeze (AMD Ryzen 5/Radeon/Raven) / AMDGPU Hybrid crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/amd/+bug/1776563/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

New here. I am not sure if I should file a new report as it concerns Ubuntu 9.04. I had a similar problem with Ubuntu 8.10. Installed 9.04, the problem is still there. I am trying it on a Dell inspiron 4150 laptop. At this point it is a bit hard to provide any details because the system freezes when I insert the card. [Bug 172745] Suspend to RAM Trouble - Time Dependent
Public bug reported: My happiness with the Suspend feature just got a dose of reality. If I keep it in suspend mode for extended periods of time, say over an hour, it refuses to wake up. I get 'Linux' in yellow written near the top left, in text mode, and the only way out is a hard boot. I cannot, for the love of money, figure out how a short, say a few minutes, suspend and a long suspend differ. My bad. I'm running Gutsy on a Lenovo 3000 G400 laptop [1] with: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 Broadcom 4311 Wireless Card with the ndiswrapper. Please let me know if there's any further information I can send your way. I did add the hpet=disable option to the end of /boot/grub/menu.lst but it does not make a difference and cat /proc/timer_list | grep Clock Event Device still shows Clock Event Device: hpet [1] http://www-604.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?storeId=1356catalogId=-356langId=356categoryId=4611686018425111790seriesid=4611686018425154304referer=4611686018425096210productId=4611686018425413688 ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Suspend to RAM Trouble - Time Dependent https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/172745 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 105382] Re: Audigy 2ZS PCMCIA Doesn't Work under Feisty
PLEASE see what Colin has written and done as a workaround. It is relevant to this bug, since we are having the same problem. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-meta/+bug/87909 ** Description changed: My PCMCIA sound card, the Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2ZS worked perfectly under Dapper (6.06) and Edgy (6.10). For some reason, it refuses to work under Feisty (7.04) beta. I update daily, but still no results. It appeared as the default sound output under Feisty (which it didn't in Dapper or Edgy) and doesn't work.
