[Bug 1759860] Re: Ubuntu MATE Bionic Beaver alpha - Hibernate/Resume Failure - ASUS P8H67-M PRO

2018-05-18 Thread Geoff Hoff
Radu, take a look at this bug -
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/initramfs-tools/+bug/1769297
As you suggested, adding the resume entry to grub worked around my
inability to resume from hibernate, but the fix noted in bug #1769297
looks to be the real fix. I tested it successfully.

[Bug 56053] Re: Can't boot using linux-image-2.6.15-26-server

2006-08-19 Thread Geoff Hoff
I'm running vmware server on two different machines. One host is an
Athlon XP, the other is a Pentium M. I have created a vmware guest
using Ubuntu Server 6.06.1. The linux-image-2.6.15-26-server kernel
will boot on the Athlon, but not on the Pentium M. The linux-
image-2.6.15-25-686 boots fine on both. If I try to boot the server
kernel on the Pentium M and remove the quiet and splash options I get
the same result as Markus

Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting the kernel.

and nothing else.

[Bug 55422] pmount-hal ignores the iocharset option

2006-08-06 Thread Geoff Hoff
Public bug reported:

pmount-hal does not use the iocharset specified by hal. Because of this
I can't specify vfat to use a character set other utf8 which isn't
recommended. I have created a patch which I will attach to this bug.

 Importance: Untriaged

[Bug 47919] Re: kontact / kadressbook creates duplicate contacts

2006-06-24 Thread Geoff Hoff
I found the problem. The k/ubuntu kdepim source package applies the
patch named kubuntu_09_kmail_addressbook.diff. This was necessary in
kdepim-3.5.1 per this bug http://bugs.kde.org/121337 because kmail
wasn't displaying address book entries. This was fixed in 3.5.2 and now
the patch causes each addressbook to show up twice. I have verified
that if you remove the patch, rebuild kdepim and then install the newly
built version of kmail, the address book in kmail works as expected.
This is an ubuntu specific problem and is not caused by upstream.

[Bug 47919] Re: kontact / kadressbook creates duplicate contacts

2006-06-23 Thread Geoff Hoff
I have the exact problem described by Rich. I thought I might be unique
because I installed Ubuntu and have installed assorted kde apps rather
than doing the Kubuntu installation.
