[Bug 1315309] Re: kernel panic when intel wireless card associates
The intel wireless aspect of this kernel panic might be a red herring - the machines panics most times it's booted, with or without the iwlwifi drivers blacklisted. The panic usually occurs a few seconds after the lightdm login screen appears (Which happents to be about the same time the wireless associates, usually). After a series of hard powerdown and restarts the machine boots without panicking, but this seems to be enssentially a random thing, it panics more often than not. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1315309 Title: kernel panic when intel wireless card associates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1315309/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1315309] Re: kernel panic when intel wireless card associates
Christopher, Sorry, I can't help you out with the bisect right now as I need my laptop for a sprint (I'm leaving in a couple of hours). I've just done a fresh install of Trusty and brought it up to date - the bug nolonger manifests itself. I had previously tested with kernels that had previously been known to work and the problem persisted, but a clean Trusty install is working perfectly with 3.13.0-24-generic, so I suspect that one of the recent changes I made on my machine would have introduced this problem. When I get back from the sprint I will re- apply some of my recent setup changes and see if I can reproduce the error.

I don't think I ever had a release prior to precise running on the laptop - I was using the development ISOs when I first got the machine about 2 years ago. [Bug 1034002] Re: Lenovo E525 screen black on resume
So, updating my BIOS, sadly, did not fix the problem. The result was exactly the same. I suspend the laptop, then resume it. [Bug 1211749] [NEW] Packge os/users incorrectly built on amd64 arch
Public bug reported: Currently the golang-go package ( golang-go_1.1.1-4ubuntu1_amd64.deb ) distributes a crippled version of the corse os/user package because of the way it handles cgo for cross-compiling. The source code for the os/user package contains three implementations it's lookup module: - lookup_unix.go (the one we should use on Linux) - lookup_windows.go (for windows, obviously) - lookup_stubs.go (the fallback for other platforms) .. each of thes files has build conditions in it's header. We should use the lookup_unix.go file, but it will only be used it the cgo flag is set - which isn't the case for the amd64 build if we cross compile from i386. So we end up using lookups_stub.go, which returns an error message when calling any of it's functions. I'll attach a trivial go program that will demonstrate the failure. If you compile go on an amd64 machine and compile the program with it then it'll work, but if you use the packaged version it will fail. ** Affects: golang (Ubuntu) Importance: Critical Status: Triaged ** Affects: golang (Ubuntu Saucy) Importance: Critical Status: Triaged ** Attachment added: main.go https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1211749/+attachment/3771028/+files/main.go -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1211749 Title: Packge os/users incorrectly built on amd64 arch To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/golang/+bug/1211749/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1198324] [NEW] softlockup during boot on AMD A83500m
Public bug reported: The current Saucy kernel (config-3.10.0-2-generic) causes my machine to lock during bootup. Swithching to a text mode boot I discovered that CPU #1, #2 and #3 report that they are softlocked by the migration process (I believe that's internal to the kernel) and that on CPU #0 the RCU stall detector has detected a stall. The machine in question is a Thinkpad E525 with an AMD A8-3500m APU. I've tried and failed to extract more information from the kernel, but setting softlock_panic just ends up with a continuous repeating stream of text scroliing up the screen faster than can be read. As I can't boot into that kernel I can't give you the output suggested on the bug submission form, but I've attached the lspci output from the 3.8 kernel version in case that is helpful. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: lspci-vnvn.log https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1198324/+attachment/3726225/+files/lspci-vnvn.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1198324 Title: softlockup during boot on AMD A83500m To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1198324/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1034002] [NEW] Lenovo E525 screen black on resume
Public bug reported: I did the kernel smoke test for the quantal kernel on precise. I can suspend and resume however when I resume I the screen stays black. It looks like the backlight isn't coming on, but it's noteable that I don't see anything on my external screen either.I can see consoles on my external monitor (over HDMI) and if I disconnect the HDMI cable and reconnect it then I am also able to see my Unity session on that screen. This issue is present with both the quantal kernel and the stock 12.04 one. My setup is a Lenovo Thinkpad E525, AMD A8-3500m. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: qa-kernel-lts-testing -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1034002 Title: Lenovo E525 screen black on resume To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1034002/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 923749] Re: New push mouse offscreen feature really difficult to get
Just confirming the same behaviour on a thinkpad E525. It is true that the behaviour feels somewhat different on the built in trackpad than on my Filco USB trackpad, but I think perhaps that this is perhaps cognitively clumsy too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/923749 Title: New push mouse offscreen feature really difficult to get To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/923749/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
