[Bug 573919] Re: autofs doesn't work with lucid

2011-01-28 Thread Geordi LaForge
Someone have an idea on how start autofs on boot with upstart???
I have a server with 9.10 and 10.04, the first is ok, the second no.

The solution with the "start on never" and adding "service autofs start" in the
file
/etc/rc.local works, but is very very worst under the sysadmin's point of
view...

I'm very tired about this kind of problem in ubuntu...no support, but someone
continue to change the configuration of the system on every new release, and
break the system!!!
I'll start to move out from my datacenter any installation of ubuntu, isn't
possibile to follow this kind of distrubution that is worst after every new
release...

[Bug 665606] Re: ksysguard prevents suspend

2010-11-14 Thread Geordi LaForge
The workaround that i find is to remove the ksysguardd (aka rename) because
isn't possibile use this system in mobile life and remeber every time to kill
this program...
My sensation is, after a lot of heavy bug in usability for me (this, the
suspend, the xorg crashing, and other) that the kubuntu 10.10 is only a
problem. I'm reverting my installation to ubuntu 10.04, more stable.
You can close this bug for me.

[Bug 672977] [NEW] Screensaver stop working

2010-11-09 Thread Geordi LaForge
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdebase

Screensaver stop working in kde. It not start automatically or called with the
lock widget in the bar.
I use a fresh install Kubuntu 10.10, and after a week i lose the screensaver.
If i call the /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kscreenlocker --forcelock, screensaver
start without problem and works well.
I found a message in the .xsession-errors this message:
xscreensaver-command: no screensaver is running on display :0.0

[Bug 640100] Re: Maverick fails to wake up on Samsung N150

2010-11-07 Thread Geordi LaForge
Someone can take a look on this old bug?
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/594885
The story is the same, and there is a solution, disable the
CONFIG_PM_DISABLE_CONSOLE in kernel configuration and rebuild it.
I try to search in the config file for this parameter but there isn't...
As i read, the problem is the same...is it possibile that in the kernel code,
someone activated this option?

[Bug 385545] Re: Smbind config.php points to wrong smarty path by default

2010-10-06 Thread Geordi LaForge
Ok i understand that this package was taken as-is from the debian repo, but in
the debian distribution,
the smarty package put the lib in a dir called 'lib' under
/usr/share/doc/smarty/ (http://packages.debian.org/lenny/all/smarty/filelist).

The problem start on ubuntu because the smarty package are different from
debian package, http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/all/smarty/filelist, in this
package, the smarty lib is directly under the dir /usr/share/doc/smarty/, so
this issue is only un the ubuntu.
Please change the package with a different config file that point on the
correct dir for smarty package.

Simply change on the file config.php this variable:

$_CONF['smarty_path']   = "/usr/share/php/smarty/libs";   #Debian
configuration

TO

$_CONF['smarty_path']   = "/usr/share/php/smarty";  #Ubuntu
configuration

Thank you a lot (when you'll resolve this bug... :-P )

[Bug 385545] Re: Smbind config.php points to wrong smarty path by default

2010-10-06 Thread Geordi LaForge
After an update again the problem in smbind.
Is it so difficult to change a line in the config.php file ?

The actual version of the package is smbind 0.4.7-3+lenny1build0.9.10.1,
this package was generated Fri, 01 Oct 2010 17:42:47 -0700...
Is it possible verify the bug associated on a package before a new deploy

[Bug 496932] Re: Keepalived haven't LVS support

2009-12-17 Thread Geordi LaForge
Thank You Dave,
i can give you an information, probably this isn't a bug generated in the
packaging process for ubuntu,
but some problem between keepalived and the kernel source.
I made some test to build a keepalived from the source tar ball, but whit the
default kernel in ubuntu, 2.6.31.
I made some test:

Host:dubhe-V.int.mobile.ipv7.org - 12:44:50_17-12-09 -
Path:/mnt/storage/laforge-storage/download/program/keepalived-1.1.19
[root:13]#./configure --with-kernel-dir=/usr/src/kernels/linux-2.6.31.8/
[...]
checking for kernel version... 2.6.31
checking net/ip_vs.h usability... no
checking net/ip_vs.h presence... no
checking for net/ip_vs.h... no
configure: WARNING: keepalived will be built without LVS support.

Host:dubhe-V.int.mobile.ipv7.org - 12:47:12_17-12-09 -
Path:/mnt/storage/laforge-storage/download/program/keepalived-1.1.19
[root:15]#./configure
--with-kernel-dir=/usr/src/kernels/2.6.27.41-170.2.117.fc10.i686.PAE/
[...]
checking for kernel version... 2.6.27

checking net/ip_vs.h usability... yes
checking net/ip_vs.h presence... yes
checking for net/ip_vs.h... yes
checking for IPVS syncd support... yes

This is a quick analysis of the problem, but permit to close the search of the
problem:
1) Something changed in the kernel source put keepalived not able to link the
ipvs framework
2) Something changed in the keepalived that break the configure script

Happy to power up Ubuntu ;)

[Bug 496932] [NEW] Keepalived haven't LVS support

2009-12-15 Thread Geordi LaForge
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: keepalived

The actual version (1.1.17) of keepalived in Ubuntu 9.10-amd64 have a big
problem,
silently the package was build without the LVS support so if you put some
configuration dedicated to balance some servers, the keepalived daemon simply
ignore it without any warning.

This is a big problem because no warning and no information about this
change wasn't present...
This is my configuration:

cat /etc/keepalived/keepalived.conf
global_defs {
   notification_email {
 keepalived-oper
   }
   notification_email_from keepalived-oper
   smtp_server 127.0.0.1
   smtp_connect_timeout 30
   router_id FWLVS1
}

vrrp_instance VI_OUT {
interface ethOUT
state MASTER
virtual_router_id 9
priority 250
authentication {
auth_type AH
auth_pass keep
}
virtual_ipaddress {
172.22.100.9/24
172.22.100.12/24
172.22.100.13/24
}
preempt_delay 300
}

virtual_server 172.22.100.12 80 {
delay_loop 10
lb_algo wlc
lb_kind NAT

  real_server 192.168.69.21 80 {
weight 1
TCP_CHECK {
  connect_port 80
  connect_timeout 3
}
  }
}

if i run the daemon with the --dump config this is the output:
