can't say - 13.04 was the initial OS on this PC after buy

I don't think this is a kernel issue - It looks like Launchpad #1264311

[Bug 1242079] Re: [Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E135] Bluetooth: can't load firmware, may not work correctly

2014-05-22 Thread Georg Graf
OK, much closer to Target now!

according to last post in Launchpad #1264311 I installed:

http://wielki.tk/vostro/debs/bt-bcm43142-onereic_0.0+2016somerville2_amd64.deb
http://wielki.tk/vostro/debs/bt-reload-module-after-resume-oneiric_0.1_all.deb

then copy /lib/firmware/BCM43142A0_001.001.011.0028.0036.hcd to
/lib/firmware/fw-105b_e065.hcd and reboot

result:
dmesg|grep -i bluetooth shows
...
[ 21.591578] Bluetooth: firmware loaded (!!!)
...
Search for new BT divices shows my Telephone - sec-code is shown on Computer
and telephone, but paring fails finaly :(

who can help?

[Bug 1242079] Re: [Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E135] Bluetooth: can't load firmware, may not work correctly

2014-05-20 Thread Georg Graf
I tried linux-
image-3.15.0-031500rc5-generic_3.15.0-031500rc5.201405091635_amd64

but sorry: This kernel does not boot on my system. - Screen is dimming
slowly to whole white screen in a early boot phase - system screwed up
(OMG!)

no testing is possible. Kernel immediately removed

[Bug 1242079] Re: [Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E135] Bluetooth: can't load firmware, may not work correctly

2014-05-19 Thread Georg Graf
I tried linux-
image-3.15.0-031500rc2-generic_3.15.0-031500rc2.201404201435_amd64 from
the link/description above

I'm not sure if I did it right

System is booting up, but with this Kernel there is NO WiFi/WLAN and NO
Bluetooth-Indicator in Status bar.
So I can't really test the Bluetooth-Issue...

but:
dmesg|grep -i bluetooth shows NOT the can't load Firmware... Message - does
it help?

I have not set any tags

[Bug 1242079] Re: 13.10 Bluetooth: can't load firmware, may not work correctly

2013-10-23 Thread Georg Graf
Yes - I had the Problem also in Raring (13.04) over all Kernel Updates in this
Version.
It is still be present in Saucy after the Update last Weekend

No - I have ot the skill to change the Kernel manually - and this is my
production machine...

There are also many entrys in the internet that report's this Bug (see google:
Ubuntu can't load firmware, may not work correctly regarding with Broadcom)
- but there is no solution!

Please see also Bug #1065400 in Launchpad

[Bug 150193] Re: Remote Login via XDMCP is not working

2008-06-02 Thread Georg Graf
Hardy LTSP doesn't work with XDMCP! I have set this in my lts.conf:
SCREEN_07  = startx
Result: No GDM-Login appears on the terminals!
The settings in /etc/gdm/gdm.conf-custom where checked and ok, ufw is disabled.
Only a X - Pointer appears in the middle of the screen.

with SCREEN_07 = ldm : It works fine, but have an evolution problem
with the login keyring on the terminals.

[Bug 226229] [NEW] [hardy] firefox 3.0 network.proxy.type can't be locked

2008-05-03 Thread Georg Graf
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

System: brand-new Hardy-Installation out-of-the-box

Central firefox settings in firefox.cfg doesn't have any effect. I would like
to lock the proxy-settings systemwide
(see attached firefox.cfg file) - This file works in dapper!

Another try was a encypted mozilla.cfg loded via
pref(general.config.filename, mozilla.cfg); in all.js
But it's the same to, the proxy settings where NOT locked!

[Bug 155500] [gutsy] ltsp: i815 Thin Cilent boot no longer after Upgrade from Feisty LTSP

2007-10-21 Thread Georg Graf
Public bug reported:

After Upgrade from Feisty LTSP, my i815-based Thin Clients (Compaq iPAQ) no
longer boot successful.
With Feisty, they work fine. When the Ubuntu - Splash-Screen disappeared, a
Cursor blinks in the upper left corner - and nothing more happens.

My IBM T43 Notebook boot successfuly on the upgraded LTSP-installation
(and boot up significant faster then before ... - but this is even not
my Thin Client )

[Bug 110009] [Feisty] LTSP: libGL error: open DRM failed

2007-04-25 Thread Georg Graf
Public bug reported:

brand-new Feisty Installation, out of the Box with only LTSP added

LTSP Client with i815 chipset, xorg for i810 is proper configured (16Bit
Color, 42MB memory..)
Xorg.6.log on LTSP-Client reports direct rendering enabled

but glxinfo reports libGL error: open DRM failed (Operation not permitted)
so, a view lines later there is: direct rendering: No - see attachment with
complete glxinfo below
running glxinfo in LTSP-Client with sudo reports the same.

I tried also a seperate xorg.conf for this client with
Section DRI
Mode0666
EndSection

but nothing changed

(Remark: I had some problems more to get LTSP running under Feisty: dhcpd
doesn's start and logon is only possible with the statement
SCREEN_02 = startx in lts.conf - no logon with ldm possible - i report this in
another bug - this is only for the DRM -Problem)

[Bug 104540] Dapper LTSP:glxinfo direct rendering: No for i810

2007-04-08 Thread Georg Graf
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-i810

This Problem looks as the same in #42049 and #54858, but this here is
related to Dapper LTSP (MueKow)

Hardware: i815 Chipset (Thin Client)
all necessary Parts for i810 are loaded, Color is set to 16Bit, VideoRam is set
to 64MB. So, Xorg.6.log at the terminal says direct rendering enabled
but glxinfo on the terminal reports direct rendering: No

The dirty trick Symlink or copy /opt/ltsp/i386/usr/lib/dri to
/opt/ltsp/i386/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri doesn't work

Presumably, this problem is fixed for Edgy/Feisty meanwhile - but how it
is to fix for Dapper LTSP (MueKow) ?
