[Bug 47939] Re: Serious 3D performance regression
I have exactly the same problem in Feisty LTSP - reported in Bug #110009 - is there a way to fix/workaround it? -- Serious 3D performance regression https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/47939 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 110009] [Feisty] LTSP: libGL error: open DRM failed
Public bug reported: brand-new Feisty Installation, out of the Box with only LTSP added LTSP Client with i815 chipset, xorg for i810 is proper configured (16Bit Color, 42MB memory..) Xorg.6.log on LTSP-Client reports direct rendering enabled but glxinfo reports libGL error: open DRM failed (Operation not permitted) so, a view lines later there is: direct rendering: No - see attachment with complete glxinfo below running glxinfo in LTSP-Client with sudo reports the same. I tried also a seperate xorg.conf for this client with Section DRI Mode0666 EndSection but nothing changed (Remark: I had some problems more to get LTSP running under Feisty: dhcpd doesn's start and logon is only possible with the statement SCREEN_02 = startx in lts.conf - no logon with ldm possible - i report this in another bug - this is only for the DRM -Problem) ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- [Feisty] LTSP: libGL error: open DRM failed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/110009 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I attached the Xorg.6.log and glxinfo shown in terminal Output from xdriinfo is: libGL is too old. [Bug 104540] Dapper LTSP:glxinfo direct rendering: No for i810
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-i810 This Problem looks as the same in #42049 and #54858, but this here is related to Dapper LTSP (MueKow) Hardware: i815 Chipset (Thin Client) all necessary Parts for i810 are loaded, Color is set to 16Bit, VideoRam is set to 64MB. So, Xorg.6.log at the terminal says direct rendering enabled but glxinfo on the terminal reports direct rendering: No The dirty trick Symlink or copy /opt/ltsp/i386/usr/lib/dri to /opt/ltsp/i386/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri doesn't work Presumably, this problem is fixed for Edgy/Feisty meanwhile - but how it is to fix for Dapper LTSP (MueKow) ? ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-i810 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Dapper LTSP:glxinfo direct rendering: No for i810 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/104540 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
