[Bug 133575] Re: scp big file causing General Protection Failure

2007-09-20 Thread Gerhard Schneider
Quikee is right - memory remapping "solves" the problem.

After memory remapping (3.3GB instead of 4) the bonnie benchmark is
running, there are only problems with the network driver:

thousands of "atl1: TX busy" but no GPF. System still running..

[Bug 133575] Re: scp big file causing General Protection Failure

2007-09-20 Thread Gerhard Schneider
Seems to be the same bug seen here:

2.6.22-11-generic #1 SMP Mon Sep 17 03:18:44 GMT 2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Core2Duo, ASUS P5K

When mounting filesystem via NFS and running the bonnie benchmark I get
after approx. 2GB:

[Bug 57543] Re: NFSv4 Client do not work

2006-10-30 Thread Gerhard Schneider
For me you can close it, it was a warning only (and an information what
to do).

To your information: As of linux-2.6.19-rc3-CITI_NFS4_ALL-2 the problems
are still not sorted out.. (check
http://crucible.osdl.org/runs/branches.html if you want to ruin your
day..) - but it's getting better :-)

[Bug 57278] Kubuntu dapper: xserver-xorg-core 10.3 doesn't work with nvidia_glx

2006-08-22 Thread Gerhard Schneider
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 57153 ***

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-core

kubuntu 6.06.1
GeForce4 TI 4200 on AMD K7 (VIA board), specs per request.

After upgrade to xserver-xorg-core 1.0.2-ubuntu10.3 nvidia_glx doesn't
work anymore (graphics card not found anymore).

Reverting to 10.1 solves the problem

[Bug 56560] dapper disks-admin crashes on rpc_pipefs

2006-08-16 Thread Gerhard Schneider
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools

gnome-system-tools 2.14.0-0ubuntu11

disks-admin crashes on that /etc/fstab entry

rpc_pipefs /var/lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs rpc_pipefs defaults
0 0

the other possibility

sunrpc /var/lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs rpc_pipefs defaults0
0

is working.

If the old rpc_pipefs entry (still supported by kernel and user level tools)
is not supported anymore there should be an error message but no crash.
