[Bug 595648] Re: Remote unlocking not possible if plymouth is active (Bug or Feature?)
How is the status on this? Now on ubuntu 14.04 the previous hacks to remote unlock the disk do not work anymore. This bug already is more than 4 years old. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/595648 Title: Remote unlocking not possible if plymouth is active (Bug or Feature?) [Bug 595648] Re: Remote unlocking not possible if plymouth is active (Bug or Feature?)
It appears that plymouth-dummy doesn't work on raring (13.04). I've installed it and when I try to remove the plymouth package, it tries to remove a lot of dependencies and if I remove it, the apt gets broken. If I reinstall it though, it works again, but remote unlocking using the passfifo method doesn't work, only using the script from #23 or one of the other methods (that kill the cryptroot process and wait many seconds). There is any deadline for this bug being permanently solved? Remote unlocking a luks or dm-crypt root container should be easy to use, perhaps even an option on an ubuntu server installation, since there are a lot of VPS hosting providers that offer this kind of installation.
@cunnilinux I've tried on quantal (12.10) server and with the plymouth-dummy package I could unlock using BOTH the passfifo method and using a keyboard on site, attached to the machine. Did you followed the correct instructions?: 1) dpkg -i plymouth-dummy_1.0_all.deb 2) apt-get remove plymouth 3) update-initramfs -u reboot then done -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/595648 Title: Remote unlocking not possible if plymouth is active (Bug or Feature?) [Bug 372725] Re: thinkpad t61 slash/question key not working
Did it and no success. I still don't have the slash/question key working on the text console, and still need to use xmodmap to workaround the problem on X. Apparently the problem isn't on the xserver-xorg-input- keyboard and on the linux kernel itself. ** Attachment added: "uname-a" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26467877/uname-a -- thinkpad t61 slash/question key not working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/372725 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 372725] [NEW] thinkpad t61 slash/question key not working
Public bug reported: After upgrading from 8.04 to 9.04, the slash/question key stopped working. Using xev, I realized that the X was thinking that the key was the Right Control (Control_R), keycode 105. But the keyboard of the ibm thinkpad t61 doesn't have a right control. I've tried both on kde and gnome. Even on the text console it doesn't work. Tried messing with the setxkbmap as it has an entry for my notebook's model. Nothing worked. The only way i got to workaround this issue was by changing the mapping with the xmodmap. Changed the mapping of the keycode 105 to be the slash/question, not Control_R anymore. But it won't work on text console either, only X. On the text console I have to use the AltGr + Q combination to get the slash, and AltGr + W combination to get the question. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- thinkpad t61 slash/question key not working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/372725 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
