[Bug 886183] [NEW] suspend to ram fails when mythtv backend is running
Public bug reported: I use an ubuntu server. When there is no mythtv installed, suspend to ram works fine by using the command: pmi action suspend It suspends and then wakes up with no problem. [Bug 884668] Re: sudo apt-get update fails to update extras repository because of unavailable public key
Thanks for your reply. I added the extras.ubuntu.com repository manually to the /etc/apt/sources.list. This is an ubuntu server system, not an ubuntu- desktop system. Following your question I tried to run synaptic, uncheck the extras repository, run an update, then check it back and run an update again. However, the error still occured. So, was I doing something wrong, or is this a bug? if there is a bug, then perhaps there is an error in the installer of the ubuntu server, not the desktop one, which may explain how the bug remained unnoticed so far. Your fix involving requesting the key from keyserver.ubuntu.com worked and now I can run apt-get update with no error messages. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/884668 Title: sudo apt-get update fails to update extras repository because of unavailable public key To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/884668/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Dear Pedro, yes the issue is reproducible in oneiric. Like before, I set it to shutdown when battery is critically low, then unplugged the UPS and waited for it to drain. Oneiric did not shut down when the UPS went low, however just one second before the UPS ran out of power oneiric displayed a message; I did not have time to read it, but I managed to see the words "critically low". [Bug 883805] [NEW] sound from webcam's microphone is distorted (too high pitch, too fast)
Public bug reported: I use a logitech webcam that has a microphone ([USB-Audio - USB Device 0x46d:0x802, recording], the sound control reports it as webcam c200). When trying to record sounds using this microphone, the recorded sound sounds too high pitched and too fast, like a record that is spun too fast. The problem does not occur with the internal microphone, only with the webcam microphone. The problem is a new one that first occurred with oneiric, the webcam's microphone used to work up until natty. The way to reproduce the problem is to use sound recorder and try to record something, then play it back. it will sound too fast and too high-pitched. Skype also cannot make a sound call. What is interesting is that running ubuntu-bug audio asked me to record sound using this sound device: this time my voice sounded normal, neither fast nor high-pitched. [Bug 874881] Re: installing gnome shell makes system unable to halt/reboot
After some research, I discovered that the reason for this undesired behavior was not installation of gnome-shell, but rather the "login automatically" option, in combination with having my home folder encrypted. By the way, the system should not let me enable the "login automatically" option as long as my home folder is encrypted (just as it does not let one have both options during installation), since this defeats the purpose of having one's home folder encrypted. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/874881 Title: installing gnome shell makes system unable to halt/reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/874881/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 874881] [NEW] installing gnome shell makes system unable to halt/reboot
Public bug reported: After installing the gnome metapackage (which includes gnome-shell), I noticed the following problems: - There is no shutdown/suspend/restart option, only a logout option. *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 801725 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/801725 Hi, I don't think this bug is a duplicate of bug 801725. [Bug 808440] [NEW] empathy shows new msn contacts as offline

[Bug 783682] Re: sound stops after a random interval
Thanks. I created a log from PulseAudio as per given instructions and "fortunately" the issue occured after about 15 minutes. So I started pulseaudio using verbose output to a file, then started listening to some music from spdif, played some youtube videos and some local files, and suddenly all spdif output stopped. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager I have set it to shut down when UPS is low and also to shut down when UPS is critically low. When on UPS power, the battery discharges. There is a notification that UPS is critically low, but it does not attempt to shut down. Then UPS battery dies and the system abruptly turns off too. I suspect that the reason bight be that it monitors time until battery empties, instead of monitoring percentage of battery charge. It seems that the time to empty is incorrect, while percentage is correct. My UPS is a Belkin What you expected to happen: When UPS power is low/critically low, the system should take action based on the power preferences (either hibernate or shut down) What actually happened: UPS power gets low/critically low and no action is taken. The minimal series of steps necessary to make it happen, where step 1 is "start the program". 1. Power Management Preferences|On UPS Power|When Power is low/critically low|Shut down 2. Pull the plug so that system runs on UPS power 3. [Bug 783682] [NEW] sound stops after a random interval
Public bug reported: This issue appeared in Natty, sound was working OK in maverick. Sound suddenly stops working, without the system apparently noticing (there are still sound controls, applications play sounds but nothing comes out of the speakers). There are some ways I can make sound reappear: 1. sudo alsa force-reload 2. rm -rf ~.pulse && sudo alsa force-reload 3. logout, login from console, perform 2. and then login from gdm 4. restart sometimes 1. is enough, but sometimes I need to go all way to 4. note: ubuntu-bug audio crashes with the following message: 23822 ERROR: symptom script /usr/share/apport/symptoms/audio.py crashed: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/apport/ui.py", line 56, in thread_collect_info package = symb['run'](report, ui) File "/usr/share/apport/symptoms/audio.py", line 203, in run package = problem_func(report, ui, card, isOutput, jack) File "/usr/share/apport/symptoms/audio.py", line 78, in symptom_fails_after_a_while pa_finish_logging() TypeError: pa_finish_logging() takes exactly 1 argument (0 given) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: alsa-base 1.0.24+dfsg-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-9.43-generic 2.6.38.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-9-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.23. [Bug 783673] [NEW] banshee loses application bar
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: banshee Banshee has lost its application bar. The only way to use it is to logout, login in ubuntu classic (not Unity), run banshee, right click on the task bar icon, choose maximise. Then I can at least work with the maximized window. [Bug 780050] [NEW] Evolution does not update google contacts address book
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I have a google account with about 300 contacts. Evolution can see them and can update them, but when I change something from within the gmail webpage, my changes don't show in Evolution. I tried setting the refresh rate to 1 minute, and I also tried to restart evolution. Still the changes don't show in Evolution. What is even stranger is that I even tried to delete the address book and created again. Still the changes don't show, as if it retains the address book in a local file even when I delete it. [Bug 124370] Re: kopete does not give "connect at startup" option when creating new accouts
Indeed the new setting "exclude from connect all" should be checked if one doesn't want an account to connect at startup. [Bug 124370] kopete does not give "connect at startup" option when creating new accouts
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kopete According to documentation, Kopete Account Wizard, when creating a new account, offers the option to connect at startup. [Bug 91724] Re: amarok no windows+c shortcut to pause anymore
Hello, the answer to Andrew Ash's question (What is the shortcut set to in Amarok's Settings->Configure Global Shortcuts ?) is: the shortcut is not set at all, while the other shortcuts (Win+Z, Win+X etc) are correctly set. I reopened the bug, as I can give the information asked. Thanks a lot, it's just a small bug, and the user can correct it himself, but it's slightly annoying... ** Changed in: amarok (Ubuntu) Status: Rejected => In Progress -- amarok no windows+c shortcut to pause anymore https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/91724 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
